Schefter tweeted that Tebow playing for Jax next year is a near certainty

Thanks for the info man, I had not seen that reported before you posted.

Interesting and kinda sad all at once.

That is great news to me if confirmed. Bring him back home... it's the only way for him to get another shot. That, and there is a possibility that I may be able to attend a game when I am on leave, or better yet season tickets if I ever move back home from Europe.

Well, it sort of all makes sense of what is happening now. If Tebow is likely to go to Jax, and I'm seeing that as reported by Chris Mortensen as well now, then the Jets obviously knew that the Jags wanted him before it was reported. Therefore, the Jets don't want Tebow to start and do well because it might make it difficult to get rid of him if the fans get attached to him. Conversely, if Tebow goes out and stinks it up, it may make it harder to dump him off on the Jags, either for free or a few late round draft picks. So the best thing for the Jets to do if they want to get rid of Tebow is bench him. Starting him is a lose-lose for the Jets and they really and truly want him gone.

    Makes sense to me now.

If he can't succeed there, NFL career is over.

It depends on the circumstance, but possibly yes, and you could say that about many NFL players. It's not as though he has had multiple chances and failed. He had one real chance in Denver and he won the division and a playoff game. He did not have a real chance here in NY, so this is basically a wash. So far, Tebow has succeeded, not failed, when given an opportunity in the NFL.

No one knows that for certain other than few inside the NYJ organization. Both "RR and Sparano were anti-Tebow from the beginning" and "a combination of McElroy improving and Tebow performing poorly in practice" are plausible explanations for his "demotion".

Montreal......QB Calvillo has two years left but has had injury problems and back-up McPhearson is leaving.

My lying eyes tell me otherwise. Sanchez has played very poorly this year. When Sanchez was benched, Tebow was moved form QB2 to QB3 in favor of McElroy. Regardless of whether you think McElroy has practiced better, Tebow had no real shot to start because the Jets knew he was a bad practice player when they got him.
