There was someone who referred to Focus on the Family as a hate group and as Tebow and his mum did a pro life commercial with them, Tebow and his fans were hate mongers too. Hate group, hate speech and all the related hate hurls have become so overused, the label's just become a knee jerk reaction. I don't think the comments on here from Phaytal & co are anything excessive. Phaytal's creepiness comes from the depth of his obsession. The comments themselves are similar to much found on any comment section of any hot topic article. I'm a 3/12er in spirit if not in actual date. And I see a degree of victim mentality creeping into Tebow fans. It's just words on a message board. And they're rarely against one person. And not even particularly horrible. More in the nanny nanny boo boo range.
I gotta disagree with you buddy. I thought the comments were excessive and some vulgarity about the female anatomy. And it was all brought up by phaytal to poke at TT fans. I've played sports my whole life so I've heard everything in a guys locker room. I was here arguing with phaytal when he said all that. I checked last night and it all got deleted cause I can't even find it anymore. So it evidently was bad enough that the moderators deleted it all. I'm a pretty even keel guy. I can take a little trash talk. But guys who start taking low blows that have nothing to do with football, I'm gonna call them out for what they are doing and for why they are doing it. That's what I and some others did.
Meh, your e-matyrdom really isn't that impressive. Get over yourselves. This can be a tough room. Favre fans got the same treatment. It's just not normal for people to obsessively follow a single athlete from team to team like that. If you can't take a little shit about it, start your own Gangtim board.
I've said for a long time that a majority of the Tebow haters hate him most for reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with football. They illustrate my point on a daily basis in this forum with comments like the ones highlighted by the OP in this thread. If they want to be bigots, fine, let them, their comments only indict themselves and show the lack of character they have.
I see one poster repeatedly quoted in the OP. One poster that I rarely if ever see outside of this sub forum.
 Vandy is so bad.... How bad are they? Tennessee's only win in the SEC last year was against the Commodes.
Almost all of the hateful negativity quoted from the original poster is coming out of one simple Jackass, I repeat, one simple Jackass. Tebow is probably the most popular athlete in America, if he tightens up his passing he will go down as one of the great Sporting Icons of all-time(heck , he might do that even without improving the passing game). Don't let negative nellies label you or ruin your enjoyment of a once in a many generation individual.
You might be surprised, Manning took a bunch of Colts fans with him to the Broncos Forum I check occasionally. I think anytime a big name(Manning, Tebow, Favre) switches teams there is going to be at least part of the fan community that follows along.
Disclaimer: Please know my intention in making the following points is NOT to do ANYTHING other than to express my personal observations and opinions, and is NOT intended to be offensive or confrontational in any way . I have message boards and like ALL message board owners, I reserve the right to make my message boards' 'Commandments' as I see fit. Warning: My comments may have elements of a 'tongue in cheek' style. This Tebowmania forum was established to keep discussions of a member of the Jets' football team, Tim Tebow, out of other Jets' forums because the owner of this message board promised his/her members that It would be done. I speculate that 'The Promise' came about because a FEW of this board's most ardent Tebow detractors, insisted it be done. It's also possible that a fair poll was taken and adhered to, but I doubt it. Tebow was drafted by the Jets on 3-22-2012, 'The Promise' was made on 3-27-2012 leaving little time for a comprehensive poll to give a fair result. 'The Promise' is clearly stated in this forum's only sticky. For everyone's convenience, I've posted that sticky below. 3-27-2012 Explicit in that sticky is the stipulation that anyone making a "Tebow-related" thread in a non-Tebowmania forum violates a message board 'Commandment' and risks being punished, and that the most egregious violators may be exiled from this message board for eternity. Implicit in that sticky, is the assumption that ALL Tebow threads and pro-Tebow-related comments are forms of Tebow worship and thereby unacceptable for being in any forum in this message board other than the Tebowmania forum. IMO, the religious assumption (worship) related to Tebow-related threads shows an inaccurate religious bias toward virtually all Tebow-related threads and/or comments with very few exceptions, particularly when compared to the total number of threads and comments in this message board. It is predictable that a FEW Tebow fans, like fans of any football player that frequent message boards will be religious zealots. It is also predictable that Tebow has more hyper-religious fans than other football players, if for no other reason than the sheer number of fans Tebow has. Regardless, when hyper-religious football player fans are excluded from any football player's fan base, that player's fan base is reduced by an extremely small percentage of total fans. As a football fan that is a fan of several football players on a variety of NFL teams, and NOT driven by any religious fervor whatsoever, I feel discriminated against in message boards that have an unrealistic religious prejudice against the fans of one of my favorite players. At least in this message board, there is the 'Promised Forum' that allows for fans of one of my favorite players to have a place for discussing Him and the team He plays on. I appreciate that. I think anyone who decides religion is the driving force of all Tebow's fans is mistaken and may not have considered: 1. That most fans of the Gator Nation's football team members are more loyal to our football team members, past and present, than we are to religion. Errr, the University of Florida is not known for its religiosity. 2. Tebow accumulates fans in His life's journeys and religion is NOT the primary driver. The primary drivers are; He is a Gator. He is a nice guy and women and kids like that. He helps the disadvantaged. He is the kind of football player that is willing to sacrifice His body to help His team win football games. He will work as hard or harder than anyone to prepare Himself for winning football games. I think a strong argument can and has often been made that Tebow accumulates more detractors than religious zealots. Why He does is kind of a mystery but may be similar to why some people had slaves, burned others at the stake, or joined the Crusades in more unenlightened times of our history. One of the up sides of frequenting this message board is this message board may be the best Jets' message boards for fans of the NYJets that exists. If there is a better one, I haven't found it. I've looked. Another up side is Tebow fans have a dedicated forum. Theoretically, with a 'Tebow fan' dedicated forum, the message board Gods can keep their main forums from being overwhelmed with Tebow threads or Tebow comments. It sure would be nice if the Gods of this message board focused on obvious thread disrupting commenters (trolls) instead of simply exiling them to the Promised Forum. It would also be nice if the religious aspect of the reason for having a Tebowmania forum didn't exist. Just sayin'. Edit: Thanks JaxSuzy for this thread and giving me a seque for saying some things that I feel needed to be said.
They probably fit the definition of a hate group, given their intolerance for homosexuality in particular. Calling them a hate group isn't hate speech; but, as for attempting to apply that to Tebow or even abortion that makes no sense. Phaytal's a troll. Nothing more, nothing less. Otherwise I agree with what you wrote.
Maybe, if he came here, I'm sure there'd be plenty of Jets fans ripping up one side of Manning and down the other. That said, Manning, Favre and Tebow sure do have quite a lot in common.
