Sanchez is actually proving he is a leader , he has not crumbled . He took the trade in stride . He actually bonded with the other guy He supports the new offense He has been making jokes and super loose about the situation . Of all the things to worry about with the Jets , Sanchez's leadership should be way down the line of things to worry about .
I just f-ing hate the way our FO is managing things. This was completely uncalled for. They should have stood by Sanchez and got him a real backup QB for competition. It is not even the fact that they invited this media circus, the me fact that tebow is another sort of QB makes it more difficult for Sanchez and coached to evaluate this competition. I am just glad tebow threw the INT to remind everyone of his true QB skills, because up until then he was just reminding us about how Sanchez is easy to pressure (as tebow is not).
It's real simple. THERE ISN'T A QB COMPETITION. Sanchez would have to seriously suck for Tebow to take over as starter. I mean, seriously. he'd have to be directly responsible for quite a few losses. He'd have to be completely ineffective. he'd have to have a bunch of turnovers. In short, he'd have to play much worse than he has ever played either in the NFL or in college, and he'd have to do it over a sustained period of time.
Agree for the most part, except I don't believe Sanchez is the starter. I think the man has lost his confidence. I cringe whenever he drops back to pass. I do agree 100% about Tebow. He is filled with confidence and is a true leader unlike Sanchez. But I'm also not impressed with our O-line, TE, WR's and Greene so maybe the problem isn't Mark. Or maybe it is... But I can't see how our running game will be successful when Sanchez with his crappy arm cannot stretch the field.
Pre - season means very little to us, its coaching evaluation and not designed to show ay team any thing!!!!
Sanchez was ruined by Shotty, bottom line. He is a shell of a man. No need to feel sorry for him, he's made millions of dollars. The writing is on the wall, he is finished. Tebow will be the QB for better or worse a few games after the season starts - mark my words.
That is not true, all it takes is a few early losses where Sanchez is ineffective (not horrible) much like he has been most of his carreer and jets will panic.
They need Sanchez to get more Reps instead of that 1 quarter so he can build chemistry. Only 6 Passes isnt enough
THIS Sanchez doesn't have "it". He isn't tough enough, if he gets hit it takes him three plays to muster back the courage to hang in the pocket. He is grossly overpaid and while tebow isn't the answer he at least has heart. Rex will turn to that once he sees that Sanchez is a GQ west coast guy entirely out of place in a tough east coast division / market. So Yes the sky is falling especially when the qb refuses to be accountable for his poor play. Sanchez needs to focus on what he needs to do to get better instead of what the team needs to do that's what a leader does which Sanchez still hasn't learned.
Sarcasm? Sanchez has missed one game his whole career, wrong. Overpaid now has something to do with toughness and skill? Sanchez took the blame for last year when it wasn't all his. Sanchez focused on the offseason on what it takes better, footwork, ball security, pocket presence. And Sanchez has yelled at teammates and pumped them up. Oh and no #1 or #3 receiver out there tonight too but that's a fact so you don't use it
Great response. Well said. I no longer need to continue to search for a sane response to this insane thread
When Sanchez dropped back last night you could tell he was much more confident and it made me confident he wasn't going to turn the ball over. Now obviously the protection was sub par so hopefully that gets fixed fast.
Because he's the Quarterback Jets fans deserve, but not the one they need right now. And so we'll hunt him... because he can take it... because he's not a hero... he's a silent guardian, a watchful protector... a Dark Nacho.
