at this point i really believe tanny is hell bent on trading leon for three reasons: 1- leon is 'approaching' the years in which a RB can start to decline, plus coming off a serious leg injury, has to leave tanny doubting whether or not a multi year, multi million dollar is the right move for a player to play behind Greene 2- a great draft pic to get younger and get a player under a reasonable 4-5 yr contract 3- 2011 leon is a free agent, meaning he will not be back with the jets anyway
The message has already been sent to Keels: Leon got a second round tender and NO ONE is falling over themselves to sign him. That, my friends, is negotiating leverage.
it wasnt a message it was a glaring hole in which somebody rushed for 1,400 yds and 14 tds; and wasnt coming back. thats what that was. as far as Leon; who knows what he was really offered but if it was at an avg of 4.5mil a year an he turned it down thats his own fault. if anything Leon should be willing to re-sign for a nice 2 yr window for a ring we have while building long term with players like (Greene, Harris, Scott, Revis, Edwards, Sanchez) Leon went out and hired someone who was getting big contracts for players. just turns out our GM is shrewd and Keels thinks hes the next Rosenhaus. anyways I doubt a team ponies up a new contract and a 2nd rd pick for a RB coming off a broken leg. if anything were giving him his chance to shop around and he'll eventually realize for the same relative total he can stick with a contender instead of taking the Jones route.
Maybe you should just check out his company's website, man. It's www.gmgsports.com Oh, wait... Well, so much for that idea. They sure have their shit together, though. I mean, you can easily find a bunch of pictures from the GMG Annual CELEBRITY POOL PARTY!!! (Although you may have trouble identifying more than one or two actual celebrities)
