No, because you fail to provide anything resembling a coherent argument, and seem to think that 2 smilies per post is a reasonable substitute for that.
Yup, that's exactly what I think is going to happen when we get a bunch of quality guys to build around our stars. Unfortunately 85% of our fan base won't accept that though...
I would actually prefer it if you would stop discussing anything on this board.:breakdance::rofl::metal:
I think it's pretty obvious what is going on with Kerry Rhodes. Rex told him, listen we need you to buy in completely, work with the coaches, be a leader and play well consistently. If you are not up for that we will work with you on a trade. We want you back, you helped us with our success but you know and I know you can play better. So it's up to you.
I thought it had already been made painfully clear that he will be tendered the top tier (1st and 3rd rnd pick value).
wow that was the best analogy i've heard for gholston yet.you actually gave me a little bit of hope for him.thanks stu
Tanny also talked about the coaching staff changes and confirmed that it was a long term plan with Rex to only have (4 of) those coaches for the single year to help get started. It was acknowledged to be a cost cutting move.
Agreed. I also like that you edited it. I imagine the pre-edited version was something like this: "Bad post." But it evolved.
There are athletes who are football players and there are athletes who play football. They are not the same, and Gholston is the latter. Gholston will never become the player that many originally thought he could become, because Gholston simply doesn't care about being that player. The ghost is just here for a big payday. He got it. Its over. Vernon Gholston will NEVER be John Abraham....not even on his best day.
At least Gholston dressed for the playoff games. If we can't say anything else about him, he showed up.
Umm, I said the same exact thing months ago. I said that just like Thomas, we would have to wait to see maturation with Gholston. No one ever wants to hear that about a first-round pick, but shit happens. Gholston is a project. He has the physical tools, and he's not a dummy. And he doesn't seem "unmotivated" to me. My view, from what I've seen, is that he lacks confidence. He overthinks while he's out there, and it takes him out of plays. He seems to know where to look but doesn't commit to it until it's too late. It's not a lack of "instinct" it's a fear of making the wrong choice. Indecision leading to inaction. As for Rhodes, it's amazing how everyone's response is "Tanny's lying too, along with Kerry!" And then when one of the guys who has been right about it all along says something, you all jump on him and tell him to shut up. Classy. I basically said the same thing Tanny said about TJ before this as well. Everyone would love to have him back, but it's going to be a financial decision, and if they can't do something affordable, TJ will be gone. The only thing that suprised me was Clemens, though I'm assuming Tanny is figuring that either he has a game-tested backup or some cheap trade-bait.
Here is what Tanny said about Rhodes, after the obligatory "we expect him back" comments... "He'll have more discusssions with Rex and the coacheswhere the level of consistancy for him and us is there for the 2010 season. He could really benefit from a very productive off season. The discussions are not contractual or econimical. ... in the context of how we can get his performance to be consistant because when he played well he played very well... and there were obviously some games he didn't play as well as he and we hoped." So, it sounds to me like it is performance related, and the Jets are asking for Rhodes to be much more heavilly involved in the off season program. It's time for Rhodes to go all in or fold. A little less Twitter, a litle more, or a lot more effort and work on being a football player, not some celebrity wanna-be. Based on how much he talks about how great he is, I have my doubts. The team is telling him he's about to get kicked to the curb. It's time for Rhodes to shut up and put up.
