The Mangini /Tannenbaum regime looks to have moved to the next level if you ask me.
NYJ are now a successfull team or at least headed that way , and any player that wants to be part of it needs to sign up and have faith , just like Pete did.
If I were a player I would now have a feeling of uncertanty with contract issues. This isn't market trading or falling in line with the rest of the NFL teams , so what is the problem? We are talking about one year here. This guy (revis) needs his ass in TC ASAP.
As someone else has already pointed out , bad press for Tanny and Co.

I thought this was only his second year dealing with agents and picks. Wasn't he just the guy who figured out cap space before that?

I'm still scratching my head, but it sounds like a good thing anyway.

I don't feel like reading this entire thread, but how exactly is he a hipocrit?

I'm sure he was talking money, not years when he said "He'll get more than the 15th pick and less than the 13th"

Let's give him a $100 million bonus too and just get his ass in camp!! How do you know what the real hold up is? Maybe Revis' agent is asking for too big of a bonus for a 5 year deal, but one that is right for a 6 year deal. How do you know that the money being requested is too much for a 5 year deal? Why would Tannenbaum, who has not had a hold out for years, pick this guy to take a hard line? It doesn't make sense. It has to be the player and his agent that are causing the problem.

    you are right.
We don't know what the hold up is. What we do know though is that the Jets spent 2 very high draft picks on this guy, and this guy does not have a contract at the moment. In this case, I am siding with the player, if he can get them to over pay or make a him a sweet heart deal, good for him, once he signs a deal, its over for him where they are concerned..

    well said.

There's got to be more to this than meets the eye, b/c given the slotting method that is used, and with so many others around him already signed, someone is being unreasonable. Mr. T's track record is so good you have to wonder what the hell is going on here.

who gives a crap about tannenbaums track record? the jets are offering revis a 6yr deal, thats the only thing we know. everyone is reporting it. revis doesnt want to sign a 6yr contract, which is absolutely fine. nobody cares about tannenbaums track record.

So somehow Revis is "within his right" to only want a 5 yr deal, but the Jets are NOT within their right to want a 6 yr deal? That makes no sense whatsoever.

Also, what's being reported and what's truth is just not necessarily the same.... You are beating this to death and making 100000000000% more of a big deal about it than you should.

  20. I just hope he signs within the next couple days. I was really looking forward to seeing him when I go to TC.
