What I would like to see over the final 6 games is our young guys step up and play well. If that results in a little run towards the end that's fine with me. What I don't want to see is veterans who have underachieved all year finally starting to play well and making me regret what could have been. I'd rather just lose out in that case.

Agreed with the poster(s) above who do not condone "tanking" in the sense of losing on purpose - but if losing is the result of seeing what the young QB can do and having young players learn on the job, then I won't cry over a good draft pick as a reward.

Play the young guys and try to build for the future-- but those young guys better be playing their asses off trying TO WIN THE GAME. Tankers never prosper.

Tank or not this season is over. It's a golden opportunity to see what all our youngsters can do moving forward. It's simply a perfect scenario to establish who we want to keep and who we want to toss. For that reason and that reason only I don't want to tank and teach our youngsters how to develop bad habits instead of how to play till the last whistle blows. If some of the vets ease up in the process then trade them or loose them next season. We don't need fucking prima donnas....we need winners
    Same goes for coaching....

Tankers never prosper? Have you been watching the Bucs and Titans this year? I don't think they're devastated over the 2 extra losses they took in 2014. They look quite happy, actually.

Considering I don't even get the least bit upset when we lose anymore, I say go for it. 3-13!

They only have themselves to blame. They traded away the Wentz pick.

Teams tank when individual players decide there's nothing to play for and stop giving or getting the big hits. Think Revis last week when that RB ran right past him into the endzone. Revis might as well been waving a red cape. Instead, he's waving a white flag.

Watching the games is still something I look forward to and hope for a good game and a good win. I'd love to play spoiler and knock another team out like Bills did to us last year. In 2015 we beat the Pats late denying them home field throughout.

And I would enjoy beating NE twice this year more than I would enjoy picking 4th instead of 5th in the draft.

YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!!!!

Plus if we win a few more games it will give TGG something to bitch about during the draft.

3-13 has a nice ring to it. Play the young guys and hope for the best. A top 5 draft pick is great only if Mac has a real vision of how to construct this team.

"Tanking" is a fan term. Players and coaches are always going to try to win to save their jobs, but fans have every right to prefer to see the team lose when it's in the long term interest of the franchise. Ultimately, it doesn't matter what we're rooting for because it doesn't change anything, but I would rather see the Jets lose every remaining game on their schedule than go 6-10 with meaningless wins over San Fran, Miami and Indy.

I think losing out is a good plan for two reasons:

    1) At 3-13, the Jets will likely have a top 5 pick. With a top 5 pick you can get a true difference maker of a player. God knows this team needs talent just about everywhere.

    2) Losing out may actually give jets fans what they want. The majority of jets fans have had it up to here with Todd Bowles. They want to see him fired and replaced. Coming off a 10-6 campaign, if the Jets fall so bad as to sink to 3-13 that could be the straw that breaks the camels back and Bowles gets fired. Isn't that a good thing?

I think losing out is in our best interests. We are the Cleveland Browns without the perfect record...........

Yes if and only if this means trading down for more high picks. Other than that - NO.

Give the young kids a chance, but don't tank just to get a stinking draft position.

Apparently 4 out of 5 Jets fans get it. I'm happy and heartened to see that.

I could never root for the Jets to lose. The good news is that this season coping with losses requires less alcohol.

4 out of 5 Jets fans don't realize that we have a 4 out of 5 chance of drafting the next Blair Thomas, Lam Jones, Russell Carter, Ron Faurot, Vernon Gholston, Dewayne Robertson, or Roger Vick.

Go ahead and tank if it makes you happy. Don't try and sell me that it will make this franchise better.
