Ironically, right after the trade, folks said that Seattle fleeced US. The trade was a disaster for Seattle as you only do that trade if you have a legit shot at going deep into the playoffs and/or winning the SB. Neither is happening in the first 2 years....and if they trade Wilson, they are rebuilding in 2022 just like the Jets were in 2020.
So despite the Seahawks win yesterday, they still have the 5th overall pick as of now to go along with the Jets at 4th. I will say, Russell Wilson looked significantly better yesterday.
Sadly, the Seahawks likely worst record will be 7 and 10. They play 3 bad teams they should beat and 2 teams they might beat. Getting a top 10 pick might be a bit optimistic.
Seahawks still have Texans, Bears and Lions on their schedule. I can see that pick falling out of the top 10 fairly quickly.
Seattle won despite trying their best to lose! Man, it was brutal. The TE had easy TD then bobbled perfect throw and was intercepted. Same TE fumbled on 2 TD line. It should not have been as close as it was. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Jets and Giant draft picks remain 4-7. Jets individual picks changed order (theirs now higher than Seattle's) but slots remain the same.
Well….it is what it is. A few months ago we all figured that pick would be in the 20s so even if it winds up 11-14 it’s still a boon for the Jets. Take the best defender remaining with the Jets own pick and see who’s there with Seattle’s pick. A lot of holes can’t really go wrong. Maybe even a slight trade down? Take the best OL available or another top defensive guy and get another early pick on top of that. That’s how to build as quickly as possible….
Either way.. It's just a bonus at this point. I don't think any of us anticipated the Seahawks being this bad this year. We are going to have a much better pick than we all thought anyway. So, It's all gravy.
This would be my preferred strategy for the draft this offseason. Take best defensive player (probably EDGE) with our pick, Thibs/Hutch/Karlaftis/etc., then look to trade down from SEA's pick and try to get another 2nd and/or 3rd and take best playmaker available wherever we land. That guy could be on O or D IMO but if you trade down into the teens or early 20's, get a few extra day 2 picks, and still wind up with one of Gardner/Elam/Booth/Olave/Wilson/Dotson/Williams/etc. then that's a huge W IMO.
Ok with teasing down if not in love with players available at that point. The trade down in 2020 has become an utter disaster. Hope HD learned on that one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We just all need to hope Seattle reverts back to the form they played at before yesterday and that pick stays in the top 5-10. They could get a decent haul from one of the potential QB needy teams like Carolina, NO, Pitt, or Denver if Corral/Pickett/etc. are still on the board with that pick.
I'm all PAAASSSSS , ON Kayvon. Tweener, he's an OLB..no pass rush moves, not so good vs run...and this is at Oregon..yea let's have him on jets. HUTCHINSON...is the guy we want. PASSS ON STINGLEY TOO. Hes damaged, his stats alarmingly worse each consecutive year too.

yup....and thats why one of the 2 firsts next year has to be OT. they just can't catch a break. looks like wirfs is the best of that OT cluster.
