This is true. That said it really is hard to tell what Pettine is responsible for as opposed to Rex. That said he is responsible for something, and even if he wasn't it still is an infinite upgrade over Sutton. Can't believe we let him coach for 3 years... he should have been fire 4.5 games into his DC career.
Bingo! Last night the announcers said that 49 of our total points against have come on runbacks. That does nto count the number of times a team has seen a short feild due to turn overs. We have a rookie QB who is very talented and learning to play in the NFL. Things look very bright for us over the next couple of years.
I swear I heard some shitbag commentator on the Sirius NFL pregame last night say that the Jets were near the bottom of the league in pass defense. I almost crashed my car wanting to kill the guy. He said that Shitzpatrick should have a good game because of this. Pissed me off. Meanwhile all the other commentators kept commenting on how great Revis was. I wonder where this dumbass got his stats, or perhaps did he confuse our passing offense with our passing defense.
Good point. I hope Pettine doesn't get any head coach opportunities for a bit and sticks around for awhile. With him and Ryan, we should have a stout defense for quite a while.
Supposed Jet fans can bitch and moan all you want- This is our team now and the future is very very bright- Even if we don't make the playoffs this year I'm still pleases with everything. This defense is only going to get better as each player becomes more comfortable with the system and Mark is only going to get better too. Of course the SOJ fans will cry about something but I for 1 am excited, truly excited about Jets football more then ever.
If it happens then we know it ought might be easy to turn that into an 11 or 12 win season in 2010 once we eliminate the turnovers, and our QB and coaches get a year behind them.
I think that's where we were before the game last night, NFL.com shows us at -1 right now. Not sure how that is.
I think fox sports has it right, at -3. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/sortab...rs&stat=turnDif&dir=descending&season=regular Which puts us at 20th.
its an average, the more games you play the more stable and consistent the average is...not inflated at all
Things are definitely looking better, there's a mentality change through 90% of the organization. A few changes in coaching and players in the off season and we can have a very good outlook for next season. The subdivision where I live has two exits and the majority of people take the one that passes my house. I helped many a Bills fan start the day off right by letting them see the Jets flag waving in the wind.
Yeah I love having Pettine around, I don't think he's been mentioned once in all 12 games this season on TV.
