I have no hatred for TJ. The OP is merely pointing out the issue of TJ hitting the ground after first contact. Unless you haven't noticed, TJ kind of dives into the pile and drops straight to the ground sometimes. Although at times he hits that hole and just makes people miss.

Once again TJ rushes for 100+ yards and at least touchdown without getting any respect.

I could have run 20 yards through the holes Shonne Green had on those two plays. Keep in mind that a change of pace RB has an advantage over the defense. Also, the Raiders have no tape to watch on Greene.

Yeah sure, let's trade away the guy that led the entire AFC in rushing last year because our # 2 RB is hurt and our # 3 rookie RB got almost 50 yards in the only game he has played in. Superbowl here we come.

If it's ACL no way we get him back for playoffs, MCL I don't know, his game relies on short little jukes/

Jones is a cut-back runner. All three have different styles.

We didn't even give up a 2nd rounder for Jones, we exchanged 2nd rounders with the Bears if I remember correctly. Experts said the trade turned out to be equal to a mid 3rd round pick

I loved what I saw from Greene yesterday. And he finally made it through a game w/o injury. Jones played great too though.

These two are going to be a nice 1-2 punch for us this year. Time for a little ground and pound.

#1 rush offense in the NFL after 2 straight 300+ yards games. If we maintain that after the fins game it will be a win.

yeah...I'll retract a little here...TJ did run well.

But S.Green ran with more authority and a serious "burst"....that kid is gonna do some wonderful things for our run game.....now and in the future.

Greene is a different type of runner and one that we've been lacking for a while. He gives us the nose down pound it in your face runs. TJ is a cutback runner.

These guys could make a fantastic combo.

I guess we'll see what Woodhead has too now.

No we won't... when LW and TJ played Greene wasn't seeing the field much... I'm guessing it'll be the same now.

Rich Cimini is reporting that with LW injury we might keep TJ in 2010. If we do that I hope we offer him a reduced salary... no way he should get that 3 mill dollar bonus.

That's a good point about Greene rarely seeing the field. I think Woodhead may be a better 3rd down back though.

If TJ finishes the season top 5 in rushing again it's going to be difficult to try and rework his contract. The guy just keeps producing.

TJ is still producing, but I like what I see out of Greene.

Are you guys the same people that wanted Lamont to start over Curtis?

I don't get it either. He's 4th in the league in rushing now and I love how he kept Leon in his thoughts throughout the game.

I never saw that side of him and it was nice to hear his praise of Leon.

He's also tied for 3rd in rushing TD's.

I have as much love for what Greene did on the field yesterday, but let's give TJ his due. I criticized him early on for a less than inspired performance, but the light went on for Jones against Buffalo and it didn't go off against the Raiders. He kept us in the game with his legs last week when the passing game was awful. He's fighting for yardage now like he wasn't in previous games and just at the right time, because our run-blocking is starting to come together.

I think it's conceivable at this point with Leon's situation that if 2010 is uncapped, we could offer Jones an extension. I think after the Jets and Leon failed to reach an agreement going into the season, they decided to let TJ and Leon play their way into staying with the NYJs after this season.

They had been splitting passing down time between LW and TJ because they wanted to see if Leon could get his pass blocking down well if they were going into 2010 with LW and Greene sharing downs in the future. They already know what TJ can do as a pass-blocker and receiver and wanted to see if he would lose a step. So far, he hasn't.

As sad as I am for Leon, because he is one of my favorite current Jets if not my absolute favorite Jet player, I have to say it - if TJ continues to play like he has in the past 2 games for the rest of the season, it's quite possible that the RB combo we see next season is TJ and Greene with Leon being the odd man out.

it has to be how he runs. His style. I see no other reason.

i have no problem with Jones. He's not a me 1st guy, he doesn't do commercials, he doesn't talk smack, he just plays.... and this board hates him.

I would like to see him attack a LBer just once. Thats all I ask for. Truck a bitch.
