I heard that as well . It was so shocking for the AFL team to beat the NFL representative, that the trophy already had been engraved with the Colts' name.
When we won, they had to scramble to find a trophy, and we ended up receiving one of Al Davis's bowling trophies that he had in
    the trunk of his car.

Yes I was asked my HO of RR & my reply was he does not have the goods to win us a SB just like his dad never did. I told them that IMHO RR is full of bluster & BS which he uses to cover up his weaknesses

Also I jumped for joy in 69 when they did win it all so certainly I would jump for joy once again if that miracle occurred in

JET-JUNKIE since '67, I'll NEVER, EVER quit nor give-up on my most beloved team in all of SPORTS (Mets/Knicks 2nd, Rangers 3rd w. St Johns bringing up the rear!!). Tho' I'm a basically a new member here (but looooooong-time "lurker"),you'll never "hear" from me bemoaning &/or predicting some Jet doom/gloom/failure due to a JET player-personnel choice(s)as I've stuck w. my JETS, thru thick & thin, for 45+ years & will continue to do so til' the day I'm "re-united" w. the MAN that intro'd me to them, my father!
Having said all that along w. the extreme "emotional investment" I have made w. my JETS, I'll be d@mned if ANY-1 here can tell me (or anyone else similar 4 that matter) that I/we cannot voice (or subjected to harrassment-w. threads/posts being moved/deleted) an objection to any "moves" I/we feel may not be beneficial to the team such as this "TE-BLOW(me) trade! I agree w. OP's point, summed up, a true Jet fan is "do-or-die"...& I do hope "Te-Blow" brings something pos. to the table, but please afford us the opportunity to inject differing opinions on Jet matters we may strongly disapprove of. JET-4-LIFE!

    'Nuff said!

I would have said much the same until this particular move. I mean, there are a few of them that I find head scratchers, but I generally defer to the guys making the choices because they are the experts, but this one... is not football inspired choice of making this team better in my opinion.

I am mostly over my outrage at this point anyway. Lot of off-season yet to see play out and I'm always behind the team. Even Tebow. Who knows, some time on the bench and maybe somewhere along the way the kid will bloom into something special. Could be a gamble that turns out to a win either on the field or through a future trade. One can never know how these things will eventually play out, unless you are Champ, of course.

Welcome to live boards. I think you will find we all bleed green. Just some of us bleed more than others...heheh

Fact is, last season came down to 2 follies. The Cruz 99 yard TD, and the Tebow drive in Denver. Had those never happened, we win both those games. With that said, the difference between an 8-8 Jets team missing the playoffs, and a 10-6 Jets team making the playoffs is paramount.
We had a Top 5 defense last year, with absolutely NO ONE playing safety. (especially when Jimmy went down for the season)

If they resign Leonhard and draft a SS or FS, in conjuction with the Landry signing AND the rather light schedule for 2012.. (Seattle.. Tennessee.. St. Louis.. Indy.. Jacksonville.. Arizona.. Bills x2.. Miami x2) why shouldn't we feel good about the coming season?

..if the Jets jump off to a 3-0.. 4-1.. 6-2 type start to their season, does anyone actually think fans will be calling for Sanchez's head, or talking about a QB controversy?

    Good point Beezer!

Myself, I want nothing more that Sanchez to have a most successful '12 campaign. I for 1 will not be calling for "Te-Blow" to replace Mark if he throws a untimely int or produces 3 or more "3 & outs" in any 1 game. Tho' I hope Miami Dol-phag O.C., Tony Soprano incorporates "Te-Blow"s occasional option skill successfully in the Jet O, I honestly cannot envision any positives with this guy on board. How about utilizing "Te-Blow's" athleticism @ safety instead?

I agree ... Been bleeding green since '67 myself and have seen more than my share of head scratcher moves ... Don't always agree with them, but I will still support and cheer for "my" team through thick or thin !

champ is my favorite TGG poster. He's probably some 12 year old pretending to be 70 or however old he is, laughing at us all.

Yes that does mean he's been posting here since he was 3.

I am, and will always be a Jets fan. Through the 40+ years it has been a journey. Many high, many lows, but only once have I felt the ultimate high.

It is way to early to give up on the team right now.The draft, and the pickups will be very much instrumental to our season. I was not in favor of the Tebow move, the offensive line really needs the attention. Also the locker room is in dire need of some discipline. I will keep on hoping.

    Go Jets!

Unfortunately I feel like even if the Jets start 4-1 or 6-2 there will still be calls to start Tebow, especially if Mark isn't having an impressive season statistically. Say they start 4-1 with Mark playing decently in the 4 wins and playing poorly in the loss with 3 picks and a lost fumble. I think that's all it will take to whip the Tebowites into a frenzy. Not that I think the CS would be stupid enough to pull Sanchez due to one bad game, but the calls for Tebow will be there.
