Given my thoughts on Woody Johnson, I would be for bringing back Hess as the owner. And yes I know he's dead. Even that would be an improvement.
Anything short of a SB win in 2012 is just another losing season to go with the 43 before since we last won the SB.
Oh no for sure dead or alive you do not want Hess take my word on that & I have the experince since I became a STHer in 65. If Hess had not gotten POed at Wberlin for signing JWN without getting Hesses permission we may not be the stinky team we have now been since we won SB3
Congratulations, you've just managed to encapsulate the entire darksider mentality in just one sentence!
Funny yesterday I received a call from the NYJs & they asked me my HO of what I thought of the 2012 team so far. The guy sounded very proud about the moves we have made to date. Well here I finally had the opportunity to vent & vent I did I vented about the way STHers from the 60s were treated, I vented about the 43 years of losing while the other team in town has won 4 SBs during our long losing streak. I vented that we are now on year 4 of a least a 10 year non winning streak because we are rebuilding, I vented about the OL no PR no game breakers no RBs so on & so forth. Man I felt so goooooooooooood to get my feelings out I am sure that guy has blacked me off his to call list but heck it was a wonderful few minutes for me.
having followed the team since 1965, as an infant, it's a good sign that people are very unhappy with an 8 -8 record. there have been way too many seasons when a majority of fans would celebrate an 8-8 record. you're right , of course, but having seen the giants win two lombardis in only 4 years while our alleged gm keeps threading water is not encouraging. so far, winning the division seems to be beyond his talent-acquisition ability/ my biggest complaint is they really need a real gm, with personnel experience ( not bradway!).
just imagine the poor people who ended up with the jets, mets and nets. :drunk: won championships in the 60's, then pretty much nothing since. omit one third base play, and the mets lose the world series against the red sox.
if all he does is light a fire under sanchez, it's worth it. somebody needs to tell sanchez that he's not bradway joe, so he should actually accomplish something before he spends his nights trolling manhattan for poontang pie.:drunk:
I can imagine the conversation. Solicitor: Hello Mister... 'Burn In Hell Woody', is that your real name sir? champ: No that is my son but TY for asking and how can I help you? Solicitor: Uh, hi, uh, did you say 'Tee Why' somewhere in there? Anyway, I would be glad to welcome you into the ranks of proud Jets fans that own a New York Jets seaso- champ: -Anything short of a SB win in 2012 is just another losing season to go with the 43 before since we last won the SB. Solicitor: ... champ: IMHO you are taking too long Solicitor: Eye Am... Did you say IMHO? Was that an acronym? champ: This is the same way STHs were treated in the 1960s when- Solicitor: -Wait did you just say STH? What is that? champ: Methinks that you are a SLW. Solicitor: Sir, I really don't understand all of these- champ: -IMHO you have not been educated properly if you don't understand such a simple thing. Solicitor: Did you just end your sentence with 'sad face'. What does that even mean? Sir, I am very confused. champ: The NYJs will never win a SB with RR as the HC. Solicitor: [to supervisor] Uh, Mike, I think I reached an answering machine. Mike the Supervisor: Just hang up and call the next number. *click*
Champ IS the very essence of the Darkside. I can pretty much guarantee you that should the day ever come and the Jets actually win something other than the back pages, Champ will be right out front with the rest of us jumping for joy. With Tannenbum at GM and the GnP in effect, we might not live long enough to see it though.
 awesome  Hopefully he reminded him that the NYJs have been losers ever since JWN hoisted the VLT at the OB in MIA
Hey now, the Jets never hoisted the VLT. The NFL first started calling it the VLT in 1970 and it was first awarded as the VLT when BAL beat DAL to win the SB.
