Jared Goff? Excuse me for a moment while I stop laughing. I recall last year after the Jets played LA how the usual suspects here gleefully shat all over him like he was one of our own, LOL! Some told everyone who would listen how they were glad the Jets FO didn't waste a pick on him because he was such a bust. I liked what I saw in Goff, and said so (either that or I said "Why bother?" and didn't click "post reply.")

BTW, the LAR are about more than just Goff getting in a year to learn. Anyone see a Todd Gurley in the NYJ backfield? Anyone see an O-line as effective as theirs? And Wow! Fisher is gone and both Goff and Gurley are playing like studs.

Are you saying coaching makes a difference?

Did you get a chance to watch the game?

I still believe the jets need to draft another QB this year, trade Petty or release him.

Petty's fundamental were not good, whether it's him or QB coach he's not the answer 3 years into his career.

Yes I did.. and thru the magic of FF, watched it in under 30mins. :)

Concentrated on the Jet offense although I did notice some truly strange lapses on the field. Still getting the plays out too slow, substitutions becoming a circus, defensive breakdowns. The game was a lot closer than the score indicated. Petty played like a guy who doesn't play enough to be any better than what he's shown so far.

Petty also played like a guy in the wrong system too. Petty's strength is the deep strike, not the short pass depending on YACS. Petty also has a pretty good set of wheels on him too. Those scrambles looked pretty good and his improvisional skills aren't bad either. In the right system with the right CS, he can be more than just a JAG QB. He could be one helluva backup and given that every QB lately seems to get at least one career year, if Petty hangs around long enough he'll make the Jets regret shitting on him.

Petty isn't a prototypical WCO Qb. Because of that, he'll never thrive here in Morton's system. At his age, his time is running short so its imperative he gets to another organization that doesn't run the WCO. Be it Canada or wherever, Petty has to get out of Florham Pk or else he'll just rot away here.

Bryce, do yourself a favor and get as far away from Florham Pk. as you can while you can. Your future is NOT here.

Trade Petty? Nah. Who's going to give up anything for a guy who's been in the league more years than the number of games he's started? The only thing that remains is he gets to start the last 3 weeks and show he's got something, and if not, release him. I'm sorry it hasn't worked out for him, because I really liked what I saw when he was at Baylor.

Many here don't get it...just don't get it. They still think everyone Mac drafted is shit and poor old Bowles does not have the resources to compete. And it goes way beyond the QB, now all of the sudden Mo plays like shit, Williams is under performing, Richardson was not needed although he was playing totally out of position, Adams can't cover, Lee is not good in coverage......yada, yada, yada. All excuses except accept that to a great extent our biggest problem starts and ends with an incompetent, over his head coach and and even worse DC. They don't know what to do with any talent that needs some fucken coaching. If we still had Gailey as offensive coordinator we would not have won one freaking game this year.

To be honest, Petty should be proud he's gotten this far. Back at Baylor, he had that nasty back injury. 4th round selection, hopefully he put that money to good use.

Hopefully he's smart with his money, he can take a tip from Taj Boyd from Clemson; he would be a great commentator at the collegiate level. Petty got a good personality. He's just not an NFL QB.

I think we can move on from Hack LAJet ... just like Eminem in 8 Mile, you get 1 shot gotta make the best out of it. They gift wrapped the job for Hack this year and still couldn't improve enough where he was considered a threat to McCown.

I usually, don't freak out if the Jets don't get a QB, the last time was Carr / Bridgewater. I was pretty pissed that day. If they pass on one this year, wherever it be Cousins or a rookie QB, IDK what I will do. I guess, I'll just enjoy another year of college football.

So, who's the idiot who thought Gailey was an OC, and went and got the QB for whom Gailey had such affection? ;)

Then He doesn't need to waste any more of the Jets time. Macc needs to release him immediately after the last snap of the last game of the season. Let Petty's fate fall where it may. Nothing any of us can foresee.

Petty has a smile made for TV, we all saw it after one of his many off target throws.

Hopefully a network comes calling when he is out of the NFL in another year or two.

They choked last week. I doubt they will choke again this week. Instead I'd expect them to come with full vengeance.

The problem with the bold is that Petty apologists automatically assume that the CSs haven't tried. They see little to no progress and blame coaching rather than the player. Also they did get someone better to start in his place with Fitzpatrick and McCown. What we all should be demanding is that they get someone significantly better than those guys and preferably younger. There wouldn't be all these Pettybots (is that the term?) if we had an actual FQB.
