They might go 0-16 with McCown at QB.

Nobody knows what their favorite is. Darnold and Rosen could be gone by 3. Macc had 2 QB to chose from last year and passed. Hindsight it looks every dumber taking back to back safeties last year. Just don't have any faith in Macc doing the right thing to fix this team. He's a year late in his planning.

what if they are Hackenberg, Ducasse and Amaro? or any combination of Hill, Devin Smith, Geno Smith, Kennik Ellis and Kellen Clemens.

The only thing that matters is who we take with that pick and what kind of player he becomes.

    It's not nonsense.
Do you realize the difference in production from the top RBs and the second tier is very minimal.
You do not give up 3 extra picks for a RB. It's foolish to think otherwise.

Everybody rips Dinka for the Ricky Williams trade but Ditka was on TV one day and he asked the rest of his ESPN panel what player that was drafted by the team he made the trade with made it to being a success in the NFL.
It was only one player who was a decent
    Linebacker with the Redskins.
He enjoys answering this when asked about the trade.
I’m sure Ditkas scouting report didn’t have anything about him being a stoned head case.

How would you compare LaDanian to the RBs that were drafted after.... not even close to the same level (and there were some good ones that year). Barkley can be THAT good.

I'm not saying that's who they should draft (or why you trade all that to move up to 3) but...

I agree with the last part of your post. Completely disagree with the first part of your post. Even if it doesn’t show up in the stat sheet, having a three down back that can do it all has a way bigger impact than a rotational guy that you’re going to get in the second or third round. That’s usually what you find there with the rare exception here and there.

That’s the equivalent of saying you wouldn’t trade a 6th round pick for Barry Sanders because what if that pick could have been Tom Brady.

The argument is is Barry Sanders worth 3 second round picks, not whether he is worth maybe the three greatest players drafted in the second round. That’s a wholly different argument.

How would you compare Fournette to guys who were drafted later ?
No RB is as valuable as a FQB.

How is this discussion even active? Jesus Christ, the Jets didn't trade up 3 2nds to move up 3 slots for a RB. LOL

Im usually working on saturday (or rebuilding a house) so this past year I've seen limited college games (outside of local SEC / Gators, and evening games (often west coast) and the big bowls (my only Mayfield games I've watched).

From what I've seen Rosen looks like best "pure passer" in this draft.... and he's not exactly getting help from his teammates.

You've mentioned you hate the guy several times, but I'm curious as to WHY? (no, being a douchebag doesnt count)

This draft I'd deep with RBs, as I posted above in reply to stinkyB , Fournette was touted as a generational back last year. He was the 3rd or 4 the best come the end of the season.
He's a luxury pick and with the roster being what it is, a luxury we can't afford.

I LOVE Saquon Barkley. That said, I hope the Giants take him at 2. Actually, I hope the Giants take Josh Allen at 2, but I don't think it will happen, so realistically, I hope they take Barkley.

Reason being, we shouldn't take Barkley after trading up. At the same time, if the QB we pick sucks, we'll all be lamenting not taking Barkley. That still isn't a reason to pass on QB. The stakes are too high.

    Barkley will be a beast.

Didnt say a RB was as valuable as a QB.... I was referencing "Do you realize the difference in production from the top RBs and the second tier is very minimal."

I think this guy will be light years ahead of the 2nd tier of RBs.... and is better than Fournette too

You used Thomlinson as an example, so I gave you Fournette as a recent example.
The production is still minimal. Regardless.
The value of RB vs QB is what should be in question.
Had we signed Cousins, Barkley would be a no brainier. But we didn't, McCown is done after this season, possibly sooner, Bridgewater is a very big question mark. RB is a much easier position to fill, with less drop off than QB. I don't get how some people don't get that.

"Darnold is a turnover machine like Nacho was, Rosen is practically ready for medical disability, while Mayfield needs to try the CFL or Arena game. Allen is not much better than Hackenberg."

lol! Now here I was thinking I was a little bit of a pessimist on the rookie QBs. I just got taken to school.

But lets note here in this analysis that Josh Allen is the best pick because at least he upgrades something :)

The only reason we made this move was because we didn't land Cousins. The Bridgewater contract as constituted should be telling as to how little confidence we have he can be a long-term answer. This move is all about a QB, period.

No argument that a QB is more important than an RB

btw I used LaDanian as an example because I think that may be the most comparable RB to Barkley

I wish they could practice in March/April so we could see how Teddy plays. If Teddy is lights out, its Barkley time.
