You stated once that you wouldn't be able to sit through it, yet made numerous points about rooting against your team. Plus, since you don't use logical punctuation or grammar structure and have since misplaced your enter and spacebar keys, don't be surprised when your point comes across skewwed from what you originally intended.

And his opener was, "Stop me if you can't stomach it, but..."; which implies he can stomach rooting against his own team just fine right there.

I'll finish it off in true Bugs Bunny fashion. "YOU...why I oughta...!"

You suggested it, so obviously it's not as repulsive an idea as you're trying to suggest now. Here, let's analyze it:

This suggests to me that you're looking forward to angry arguments about Jets fans rooting against the Jets.

This suggests (to me) that you're rationalizing a horrible and uncompetitive season for good draft position.

The rest of it is trying to cover yourself in case anyone accuses you of rooting against the team, so either A) you're going to root against the Jets for draft position or B) you have other intentions with this thread, which I won't get into.

    Hmmm?

In addition to the other suggestions made to you, you may also want to spend a few moments practicing your proof-reading skills before skillfully clicking the submit post/reply button.

Jonnyd, I did read your post, and I did understand your point. I won't go over it bit by bit, since Abyzmul did quite a good job of that already. Come on man, you knew when you wrote the post it was going to be like this. I doubt you were just trying to get a rise out of people, but maybe you were, either way, it doesn't matter. We are all here because we love this mockery of a football organization. Hell, if someone is posting about the Jets in July, he or she must be a real fan. That said, you can't expect too many people to support an argument in favor of scrapping a season that has yet to even reach camp. I would think even Darksiders, with doom and gloom in their thoughts, would still have to wait a couple of months before throwing this season to the dogs.

It's not like we are still dealing with the regime before. We have a whole new outlook on the future right now. Maybe it won't work out in the end, and we will be miserable years from now, as always, but for now, at the very least, let's hold on to some hope.

After seeing that I couldn't bring myself to root for the Jets to lose last year, even in December (although I readily admit that I didn't get too bent out of shape when they did lose), I am certainly not going to say that I'm thinking about rooting for them to lose this year.

There is no way a fan of a team roots for his team to lose, I want the knicks to win the champship while firing Isiah, and cutting step...The jets need to instill a winning attitude and a drive that will serve them well when the time calls for it...how is that done by winning or trying very damn hard to do so anything less is pointless...

Do I expect to go 16-0...hell yes, but if it doesn't happen I would like to rest easy knowing that the Jets tried thier very f'ing best going whatever & whatever...

JonnyD - If you are going to float the idea of the Jets losing every game next season, at least have the cajones to say it's what you believe, rather than accuse others of overreacting because we made the mistake of taking you seriously.

    Still, nice avatar.

No it's not really my style, and I'm not really correcting your grammar, it's just your posts are almost unreadable because for some reason you refuse to put spaces or line breaks in. Try it once and a while, people will enjoy your posts much more and probably won't be confused with what you are trying to say.

Of course it isn't. Folks that know your posts know that. Nor is it mine, especially since I mistype all over the place and leave out words entirely and openly admit it on a daily basis. Still, I'm with you. At least make an effort to be marginally literate so folks don't have to struggle beyond the obvious misfires.

At the same time, people are being awfully magnanimous here in light of the content. Root against the Jets. Is that like, "If I don't wash for weeks will I offend? Not that I wanted to offend, but let's just say I got purposely smelly, what would you all think about it? I should bathe...no? Thoughts?"

Didn't the French invent perfume so you could skip bathing for a few weeks?

You can't root for your team to lose....

you just can't. Its wrong and I'd never do it. You can't develop a winning atmosphere by losing games. Look at what Parcells did in '97. He didn't look for another high draft pick, he took us within one blown call of the playoffs after a 1-15 season.

I don't think we have to worry about hoping for it. Chances are it happens anyway.
