If I lived in New England? Whatever. You're right, I had blocked out that blip in their history when they got a stomping by the Bears. They had 2 good years in the '80's with Raymod Berry as there coach. There still wasn't "fan" base back then like there is now. Parcells wasn't there until '93 I think it was and they had 2 good years out of 4 with Parcells. And it was still nowhere near where it is now as far as Pats crap saturation.
The Pats are terrible against the pass and only so-so against the run. Against the Jets their offense is nullified by the Jets D, which means they need thier defense to step up and they just can't do it. Which is why they'll lose to the Jets next month again.
Didn't doubt you lived in the area. You must have been viewing things thru green tinted glasses. Don't know the answer to this, which is always dangerous, but which franchise has the longer sellout streak? I would think with the Metro NY population to draw from and non bandwagon fans, it should be the Jets, but I'm guessing it isn't.
The longest home sellout streak? That would be that wicked huge metropolis of Green Bay. (counting the games they played in Milwaukee)
I think you could make a good claim that Parcells, Bledsoe and Kraft pretty much saved the Patriots. First from moving to Saint Louis and then Connecticut. They were on the verge of moving to Connecticut but Kraft backed out at the last minute. Parcells and Bledsoe really helped build up the franchise.
So wait, are you saying that the Patriots got a much bigger following after they started winning games? Gee, that's weird. I guess it only happens in New England though, huh? Genius observation. Seriously. You should get a government grant or something. (Sarcasm/off.) Just curious, which state did you live in? Because that matters. A lot. Was it one of the "real" New England states? Or was it East NY, also known as Connecticut?
Of the minute percentage of Patriots fans that didn't end up having to either dust off old, neglected Pats gear from the mid-90s or buy new and throwback gear when they started winning in the 90s, I'd love to see an honest percentage of the 'real' fans who were calling for Belichick's head before Tom Brady saved the franchise.
 Typical Jets fan thinks obvious is brilliant. Imagine if you could drool and chew gum at the same time.
I think a lot were thrilled that they had gotten Belichick away from the Jets. He always had a reputation as an excellent defensive coach with the Giants, Patriots and Jets. Plus we got to stick it to the Jets and Parcells (who had skipped out on the Patriots in 96). We had just gone through the Pete Carroll era (nice guy, good college coach, average NFL coach) so he still had some time.
I'm not usually one of those people that guarantees a win, but I'm going to do that here: Jets 27 Patriots 23
Fuck the Pats and their pussy, Justin Bieber hair wearing, throw everything underneath QB and their TE's. Pats are going to get beat down at home.
After the Jets curb stomb Cincy on Thursday night for the whole world to see, they're gonna do the same to New England in New England. Probably won't blow them out but will win. Take that shit to the bank.
You guys shouldn't be scared of the Patriots we are going to beat them, their defense is terrible and Revis is going to blanket Welker and Cro is going to be on Branch, the only matchup that concerns me is Gronkowski on Leonard but I believe in him and not to mention they aren't going to run on our Defense. If we can somehow get our pass rush to put pressure on Brady and force him into throws we should win handily
So, they can run and tell that. Homeboy. I fully admit that I was one of the Jets fans that has been skeptical of us going into Foxboro, but when I look at how the Jets offense has come along and the Pats D near the bottom of the league, I think we actually could be in good shape.
