Weatherford punted ridiculously that first meeting. I seriously doubt the Jets special teams will catch lightning in a bottle twice. That said, they are playing better on O and D so we'll probably have another nail biter anyway. Pittsburgh will likely kickoff high to the 25 yd line...
I wouldn't be surprised to see 3 point scores all game. But I'd love to see Sanchez run another one in.
When Your trying to a pin a team from their 45 you need a little luck and a bounce to go your way. I'm sure he'll work on the directional kicks this week Worst Case Scenario, A touchback and they still have to go 80 yards On a another note Cotchery better be the only guy receiving punts on Sunday, I didn't like it how they had Cro 1 time than Cro and Cotch together which created confusion. Just leave Jericho and let that be the end of it
It's not lightning in a bottle if the jets have been consistently excellent on special teams this year.
If it makes you feel any better I know which mod did it and you have been around long enough to annoy him.
Weatherford set the NFL record for most punts inside the 20 this year. How is that catching lightning in a bottle twice? You are not giving the guy enough credit. He's struggled in the playoffs, but we expect him to return to that regular season form.
The touchbacks when he has a chance to pin a team deep have been annoying but as long as he isn't shanking any for 12 yards I can deal with it. Would be great if he could get back to dropping punts inside the 20 this weekend though.
He was one of the reasons we beat them the first time, and we need him like that again, to pin them back. He needs to be on the money, which he hasn't been all playoffs long,.
hopefully he never punts...but the shitty field in Pitt is a goldmine for punters...balls aren't gonna roll forever. They will hit a pot hole and sit! When is Sunday gonna get here!@?!?!?!?
I will say this, I have much more faith in Weatherford getting things back to normal this week, than I do in Folk in hitting a 45 yarder+ with the game on the line...
I think he's been a little too pumped up the past 2 games (thus why he keeps overkicking). Seems like the same thing Sanzhes suffered from in the Colts game, just putting a little too much into it. Hopefully he'll be fine Sunday.
Weatherford was arguably the MVP of the game when we beat them in the regular season. I am a little concerned about him though but there is nothing we can do. He's a good punter and he needs to show it this Sunday. Field posistion is going to be huge.
I don't know about others, but I am genuinely concerned about some of the posters. Seriously, the guy had a few bad punts after about 80 excellent punts. Can we not cut him some slack? Everyone has a bad game or two. Weatherford will be fine. He misfired all his TBs by about 5 yards every time, probably trying to pin the opponents around 2-3 yard line. Westhoff will do the coaching, so chillax!
I think he was the mvp of the previous game at Pitt. Against NE? Not so much. I have to chuckle at those who say he will be fine. How do they know? Yeah, he concerns me a bit.
