 We can avoid the defense of Chad convo... by now I think we both know where each other stands on it. We don't agree, and we will see how the future plays out eventually. I lack the arm strength to lift my stick and beat the dead horse any further.
I sort of agree but it is a very hard decision. Starting Clemens: - he looked good int he 2nd half las week, let's see more - bag arm means we can go deep andmaybe give Jones running room - his body is 100%, Chad probably isn't yet Starting Chad: - he has won a game before in the NFL, and we are DESPERATE for a win. - undertsands when to throw the ball - he is the starter I want to see what Kellen can do, but I don't want to find out at the expense of a win.....so, tough call...
What planet are you from? Do you think there is ANY CHANCE that Chad wouldn't have fumbled at the very least or been re-injured at the worst on one of the three blindside sacks that Kellen took? The O-line was MISERABLE in the first half - would Chad have made them play better? Do you not think that Ed Reed and Chris McCallister would have had a field day taking his lollipop passes to the house? Would Chad have been able to make all the throws Kellen made during the comeback? NO WAY. Would JMAC have caught the touchdown pass if Chad had thrown it? Has Chad played well against the Ravens in the past? Has he played well against similar, ball-hawking defenses? Where is the logic to the claim that we would have won the Raven game had Chad started?
Was it CLASSY to be strutting up and down the sidelines holding a ball with his helmet on during Sunday's game? Have you ever seen ANY other QB do something so insulting to his backup, who was currently IN the game? DO you think ANY other QB in the league would pull something so childish?
There is no logic to what you said. You stated the facts as they have happened in the past. The only fact is there is a large Pennington fan club on here that supports him for no other reason than they own his Jersey. If Checkdown Chad would have been in the game the score would have been 30-3!
How was that behavior not childish? He looked like a spoiled little kid pouting around because he wasn't in the game... I was waiting for him to start stomping his feet and throwing a temper tantrum... Did you see Steve McNair doing that when Boler was in? NOPE... He was wearing a headset, holding a clipboard, and trying to HELP HIS TEAMMATE... (Yet Chad is SUCH A GOOD TEAMMATE as everyone always says...)
The facts as they have happened in the past are history no? Don't we make assumptions about the future based on history? If not, we'd merely be guessing about the future...
Chad was childish because he refused the wear the appropriate "back-up QB wear" that is customary. If anything, maybe he was trying to ready to play considering the number of times Clemens got pounded on last Sunday. There you go, yeah, that's the ticket.
With his helmet on the whole time??? Standing AWAY from the rest of the team? A lot of NFL people have mentioned this on the radio and TV as well...
Or maybe he was trying to make a defiant statement that he should be in the game? Maybe he was being derisive to the TEAM EFFORT and acting selfishly???
Let me start over. Your right and using logic and facts to explain why Chad should sit will not work. Too many people love him on this board. I want Chad out as much as you do.
You can be sure that if Chad was ready to go,and mangini gave clemens the no,it certainly lit a fire under Chad. I'm glad he wants to be in that bad. And i can't wait til he starts sunday.:finssuck:
