He's referring to a retrackable roof... one that can be retracked. In other words, if you can take a train from Penn Station to the Meadowlands and you have train tracks to this destination that run overhead and let passengers off on a platform above the stadium, if these tracks need to eventually be replaced, it becomes a retrackable roof. This, as opposed to a retractable roof, which might be a hell of a lot easier than running train tracks overhead.
True, I don't know why the Giants would want to continue to sequester themselves in the cold, barren meadowlands. Makes the franchise seem more remote and distant. part of it is psychological, having the practice field near the stadium will give the impression that the stadium still belongs to them. What I'm most concerned about it sightliness for fans. Are the stands going to be more pulled back and further from the field than the meadowlands? Are there going to be many tiers where we're all on top of each other?
Depends on how they decide what to do. When the move from Shea to the M/lands took place the NYJs gave EVERY season tix holder on record at that time the option to purchase 2 additional tixs before offering them to fans on the waiting list
This is the biggest media market in the land so U can assume this stadia will be the best of the best.
Morning Champ, I seem to remember that. Still, they should publicly account for that then. I think the fans have the right to expect an accounting of who and where the tix go. In other words, 3,000 went to current ticketholders and the remaining 4,000 to those on the list. I have no idea what "Wait List" fans signed up for or agreed to when they sent in their money. I guess a lot depends on what they had to sign off on. But you make a good point... one of the things they may have had to agree to is that any current ticketholders who previously requested extra seats will be contacted and given that opposrtunity before those on the waiting list.
Exactly back in 84 when I got the renewal I also got another form for the xtra tix if I wanted them. I had not requested more tix it was a decision made I guess by the NYJs. Also. my son had put his name on the wait list & our name came up so we also got 4 more tix off the wait list when the move to the M/lands came.
With the 150M loan now approved to each team ALL NYJ season tix holders should begin saving there pennies for the upcoming PSLs that are for sure to follow. I will also guess just like the stadium not being cheap the PSLs also will not be cheap probably between 5 & 8Gs per seat
$5,000-$8,000 per seat would be completely unacceptable to any sane Jets fan. This would effectively eliminate every Mom & Pop ticketholder. I'm not saying it couldn't happen, but the public relations nightmare for both teams would cause a huge flap in the NY area.
Just doing the math using 80,000 seats as the base & the estimate for the stadia is supposely 1.2B our 1/2 would then be 600M & from there you can do the math based on the amount of seats which is how I came up with my estimate as I expect the final cost to be higher then 1.2B
If there is a $5000-$8000 I will no longer be a season ticket holder way to fuck the little guy. I prefer to play at giants stadium vs a large psl
http://www.panthers.com/tickets/default.aspx?id=1638 ranges from $3,000-$20,000 http://www.chicagobears.com/tickets/psl.asp ranges from $1,200-$3,500 http://www.stlouisrams.com/Tickets/PSLs/ ranges from $250-$4,500 http://titansonline.com/stadium/tickets/index.php ranges from $250-$4,500 http://www.pslravens.com/ ranges from $750-$8,000
If we got the WSS Stadium I would have had no problem coughing up any amount for a PSL BUT TWO teams are heelping to build ONE Stadium. There is no way in hell I will give a dime for a PSL.
