imagine this lineup with beltran batting 2nd and another legitimate power bat in the 5 spot get it done omar
I wouldn't worry about it - Beltran gets criticized all the time. People somehow think he should be a .300 hitter, even though he has never been that his entire career.
Only if he goes back to being known as Jay Bay. Otherwise, fuck 'im. The Mets already had Dunn. He used to be known as Dave Kingman. Fuck 'im. Kenny Irons is available. He was cut by the Bengals yesterday. He could probably play a good left field. I wouldn't mind the white Brian Giles on the Mets. The Mets had the black Brian Giles back in the day.
Bay over Dunn... need the righty. Reyes Beltran Wright Delgado Bay Church Castro/Schneider Reyes/Easley really worried that Castillo is gunna come back soon
Not really. Dunn's career numbers: .247 / .381 / .522, with a park-adjusted OPS+ of 131. Kingman's career numbers: .236 / .302 / .478, with a park-adjusted OPS+ of 115. Dunn is a much better player than Kingman ever was.
Really? .260 though? I don't know... We can't afford Bay or Dunn. Make peace with it now guys. Can someone come up with a feasible offer; I'd really like to see one.
He's a lifetime .279 hitter. He hit over .300 only twice in his career, .306 at the age of 24 and .307 at the age of 26; he hasn't hit over .280 since 2003. His BA is 15 points lower than his lifetime average this year, but his OBP is 5 points higher. His power is down this year compared to the last two years, but he was criticized plenty last year when he had a good year, and even in 2006, when he had (by far) the best year of his career.
You are right. I was just trying to be a little humorous. However, I don't think Dunn would really fit with the Mets. He's going to strikeout out a lot and will probably get booed quite a bit. Nobody knows if he'll be able to handle New York. I think Giles or Ibanez make the most sense for the Mets.
That simply isn't true...Look up what they're asking for. And seriously, name the players who you would trade. And I take back my Beltran comment. Well played, Jeff.
