The Browns won't move Brady Quinn unless Derek Anderson has a great season in 2008. Anderson's contract is structured in such a way that they'll get rid of him if he doesn't play well this year. I think there is a very good chance that will happen. Anderson is as erratic a QB as I have ever seen. He is not only erratic from year to year and game to game, but also play to play.

From what I understand, 'Skins would be over the cap having just signed Jason Taylor....... that leaves us......

ok so if that leaves us, who on this board could argue with picking up Farve for a 7th round pick? I mean really? if we could get farve for a 7th round pick who would say no to that? to be honest If im green bay i take what i can get.

I would think he could be had for a 5th or a 6th if we really are one or one of two in contention for him...

good call, I forgot about the Skins cap situation

basically all we have to do is throw out hat into the ring. He won't come cheaply, but a lack of suitors means we can get him with a conditional 2nd and maybe a 5th. It's risk worth taking.

why so much, if we really are one of the only suitors, if not the only one, why would we have to pay so much? supply and demand, no demand, means no matter how small the supply the price remains low.

I'm all for it. And it would really help with this Green Bay Packers fan-girl I'm trying to date.

Wow allan1, using as many words as you did to say absolutely nothing is a real talent. And you have it in spades.

You're back with your linus blanket and sucking thumb early this year...gearing up for another NFL season of whining more than Fran Drescher, I presume?

If it is true that the Packers have phone records of Brett using a team-supplied cell phone to make repeated calls not only to the OC of the Vikes but also the HC of the Vikes...

Then I fear Mr. Favre isn't going to play anywhere this year.

There will be too many repercussions if he tries to fight it -- the Vikes will get toasted and so will he.

Brett Favre sure overplayed his hand on this, if these reports pan out.

I think Jeff George is available and I think he is younger than Favre and he has a gun for an arm. Should the Jets sign him??

It would be the absolute dumbest thing, if the Jets refuse to make a play for Favre. They didn't want Penny, but only kept him as insurance on Clemens who was the worst qb in the league last season. Jets, get Favre! Make this season one to remember! Make the Jets fun again! Last season was miserable and hard to watch. Get Favre, please :)

Favre is a Hall of Famer, who was great last season. Penny was a choke king, who the Jets were forced to keep. Clemens was the worst qb in the league.

I'm convinced the Jets don't want Penny or Clemens, so I think it would be unthinkable if the team did not attempt to acquire Favre.

Jets, get Favre! Get Favre, now!!!

Where have you been the last 10-11 years? We have been good more often than not. We have had a few bad seasons(mostly injury related until last year) but we have been one of the better teams in the AFC the past decade.

What exactly has Favre done in the past decade besides see his teams upset in the playoffs when they make it? The last memory of favre was that awful pass to kill the packers chances against the Giants in the NFC Title Game and last year was Favre's first good season in a few years plus he's a year older. It's amazing how people can be brainwashed by the media about certain players. He still might be an upgrade but is it worth it at this stage of his career? I don't think so. I'd rather see the young QB develop than get Favre and have him learn a new system at this stage of his career.

I just can't get too excited about this. IMO, there is a huge calculated risk that will not come cheaply. What if we get him and he blows his achilles in the 1st quarter of the first game (bring back memories, anyone)?

Favre is still pretty good (and has been resilient), but he is 38 years old. We will be taking a chance on minimal longevity. I just don't think that is smart.
