There are many players on the Jets roster I feel are overrated. Antonio Cromartie is not one of them. On the field, the guy is difficult to go against, just plain and simple. He's tall, fast, athletic, and has probably the longest arms for a DB in the league. The guy is an utter jackass off the field, but I'm not factoring that in to how good he is on the field. Cromartie was the move IMO that allowed the Jets defense to be elite in the past. The Jets have never had even above average pass rushers. They've had to rely on sending numbers in creative ways, and having their corners play man. If you dont have Cromartie opposite Revis, you cannot blitz as much and do some of the things they were able to do, IMO. Having 2 really good corners has been the key to what the Jets have been able to do on defense.
Your post is 100% accurate, but I find it kind of funny. I've seen you on this forum trash the defensive YPG allowed when we rip on the Pats defense for being grotesque, but you use the same stat to show that the Jets offense is brutal. A tad ironic, no?

Didn't see his original post, but good catch. I thought he was merely using it as an exaggeration. My point still stands; can't use the stat to argue your case but disprove it when it doesn't go your way.
