Kellen's probably playing Madden at home and trying to set up plays that get Sanchez destroyed on blitzes.
Yeah, I'm a bit suspicious of that. I don't know if that's actually in the works or if it's just Cimini's interpretation of the fact that they've been trying to draw him out. Keller's been tweeting to Santonio to get his ass out to California.
If Edwards is as good as his word and truly wants to be a Jet, I'm sure his agent and Tanny have several contract scenarios worked out and he will be there. Even if he doesn't, he has to know it onl makes him look better to the Jets and other teams that he is willing to give up his free time and get extra work in. I do think he will be at Jets West. Its too bad I can't think/say the same about Holmes. Another intriguing thought along the same lines as Edwards is Cro. Doesn't he live on the west coast also? Its possible he might get the work in at Sanchez' camp as well. IMO Wilson should attend as well.
As I posted earlier, it wouldn't be a good idea to have receivers working with corners. The corners should be doing their own thing, but anything that facilitates contact, even in easy drills, isn't going to happen. This is especially true with Cromartie and Edwards, who don't have contracts going in. I do hope Wilson is working with Revis. Also, I'm not sure where Cromartie lives, but now that he's with CAA Sports, I'm assuming he's training in California like most of their athletes. Interestingly, despite their differences in comments after the season, Holmes may very well be easier to re-sign than Cro. I like the first point. We didn't see an extension with Edwards, but that doesn't mean they weren't working toward one and trying to figure out numbers to Tanny could plan his entry into FA when it actually starts up. I think his presence at Jets West says Edwards wants to be a Jet.
Agreed on everything you said here. Edwards clearly has done and said everything he can to show he wants to be a Jet. All thats left as far as he is concerned is for Tanny to offer him something reasonable and he will be back. Holmes and Cro are both going to be difficult to resign. Cro because he needs every penny to pay the 7 kids he has. Holmes because he wants every penny because he already has the hardware. I said this before, Holmes won't be at Jets West for 1 reason, he wants to make sure he has 0 chance of an injury before he gets paid. Even though the risk is more or less non-existent in Cali, he doesn't want to take that chance. He knows he is about to get paid all he has to do is just not fuck it up and get hurt before the lockout ends. Holmes will follow the money there is no doubt in my mind. If the money leads to NY, he will be back. If it leads to Carolina, that's where he will go. Cro, I think he wants to be back, simply because he loves playing for Rex and wants to prove he can be part of the best CB tandem in the NFL. But at the end of the day, he will want to get paid mega-dollars as well because of his children. Granted, Cro doesn't deserve mega-dollars. All of it is going to depend on Aso's deal. If he re-breaks Revis' deal from last year, Cro might get in the range of 8-10 million per year. Which we just can't afford. If Cro can be had in the 5-7 range, I think we bring him back, especially if we can backload the deal where the majority of his money comes in 2 years from now, allowing him to be an easy cut in 2013. I wish revis was the same type of leader that Sanchez is, but he isn't. Revis is the straight up lead by example guy. He is a leader based on his play. Everybody else in the secondary is monkey see - monkey do with Revis. He won't go organizing any workout sessions for the DB's. The guy who might is Jimmy. But with him rehabbing the leg, he probably isn't well enough yet to start running and working out. So he won't be organizing anything. We can only hope the young guys are getting there work in somewhere and are going to be able to improve this upcoming year. Very happy to see rookies Kerley and scotty Mcknight out there as well. Somewhat disappointed there isn't any word on Powell or McElroy yet though...
