Im sure this was all taken care of at the end of the season before the lockout even began. Sent from ... FU KOZ
The rookies will be getting the playbooks from someone. McKnight will definitely be taking a look at Sanchez's at the very least and I'm sure Sanchez will get one in McElroy's hands. The Jets are planning on sliding Dixon over to tackle from end just so he can be around Ellis that much more. I'm sure he'll be on the phone with Ellis ASAP to give him a run-down on the playbook. Wilkerson already got his when he was at the Florham Park facility for his news conference. Not sure who will be getting them to Powell and Kerley, maybe Sanchez, maybe someone else.
It's a no contact passing camp. They'll have the same risk of injury there that they'd have training in any other capacity. It's a non-issue.
smcknight21 Scotty McKnight @ @jimleonhard thx man! You called it. Can't wait to get to work with Jets West this week
I'm sure Holmes won't be there but Edwards has already stated he would be there. My guess is Keller, Cotch as well as our 4 newest offensive players will be there as well. Hell I bet Sanchez and McKnight drove up the local field yesterday and already started getting to work. McKnight very well may be one guy who benefits by the lockout as he's going to have a leg up on a lot of the other offensive players due to his bond with Sanchez. I'm sure they're already working together as I'm sure Mark is going to do everything he can to get his best friend to make the team.
I can't remember which thread it was but someone posted a list of the players who are already committed to attending Jets West. From memory: Braylon Edwards Joe McKnight Ladanian Tomlinson John Conner Dustin Keller Scotty McKnight said he was going to go regardless, as posted earlier in this thread, so we know he'll be there. Given McElroy's connections with Sanchez I think it is a safe assumption that Sanchez will at least reach out to him for an invite. I'm not sure about Powell or Kerley but I wouldn't put it past Sanchez to try and bring them in as well. All of the offensive rookies are third-day picks so I don't see them attending as being too much of a risk financially. Holmes and Smith have already said that they will not attending. Holmes has his SB ring already and is looking to score on his second contract and Smith is in the same boat - sans the ring, of course.
Patrick turner is going as well. I think one of our random RB guys we signed to a future deal is attending as well. The real reason I am chiming in here is to remind everybody why J-co won't be there. His back surgery early in the offseason. He only started running about a week ago, so he is still in recovery mode...
From Braylon's twitter.. gotta love this attitude, especially from a free agent: @OfficialBraylon Braylon Edwards Good AfterNoon World...I'm out in Cali, I love it out here but this isn't a leisure trip it's time to get some work in @Mark_Sanchez
players in attendance (that I got from twitter) Kevin O'Connell (in Brunell's link) Mark Brunell Scotty McKnight (i think thats him on the right, who's on the left?) Braylon Edwards Greg McElroy Joe McKnight John Conner
I don't know why all the NFL rookies aren't at their Team captains place photo copying playbooks.... I don't get why it's so hard to get a playbook to a player. I'd have to think this is going on a lot more than we hear.
If I'm Revis I also pop in this camp (make up for last year) and REALLY teach these young guys what it's like to go up against elite talent.
That would be a terrible idea. The whole point of the passing camp is the ability to train with zero risk of injury. Even just the presence of a CB on the field increases that risk and poses a problem for unsigned players like Edwards and McKnight.
It is. John Harbaugh came right out and said to the press that he was hoping and expecting the rookies to reach out to their teammates to get their hands on a playbook.
Also reported today that Jeremy Kerley is attending. Fantastic news, even if it's from Cimini LOL. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/post/_/id/5313/sanchez-hosts-teammates-at-jets-west
