This thread, like most others these days, is ridiculous.

    Oh yeah, it's about Pennington.

And the "hatred" that he is receiving from fans is also ridiculous. It's statements like these that make me embarrassed to be a Jets fan. How anyone could turn on someone who has given so much to this organization is beyond me.

You never get it, when have I called him great this year? NEVER. I have said he was playing well and up through the 4th qtr of Buf he was playing well bu the last 9 qtrs he's struggled but even w/ that it's not all on Chad. If brien makes a FG in Buf, if we don't have so many stupid penalties in Buf, if coles catches that ball against the Giants and if the D can hold 1 of 2 10 pt 2nd half leads and if Coles makes that catch on Sunday. Chad is clearly not playing well but people like you like to blame it all on one guy.

Sorry if I am a loyal guy and I don't throw guys under the bus at the first sign of trouble. Chad earned his way to keep playing until we went on a losing streak. It's going to be time for a change soon but i'll always root for whoever is at QB and Chad will always get the benfit of the doubt w/ me b/c of everything he has done for my team.

It's called being a fair weather fan, sports in general are littered with them. Living here in FL, good lord we have a ton of them, with the exception of the Dolphins, their fans seem to stay true, but the Bucs, Jags, even Magic, people only show up when they are doing well.

We have them too, but I don;t think the people that want Chad out are fairweather fans, they are jsu tpissed about the situation...I dont think they are going to stop watching ans cheering though.

A lot of the fair whether factor is the Money. For the .90 it cost me to go to a Mets game in 65 and 66 and the .25 for a dog or bag of peanuts, it was a pretty nice to go out to the park and watch your team lose 90 to 100 ballgames and chear guys making basically the same money as a teacher, plumber or at best a good lawyer. Chad makes 9 million dollars, it's a lot easier to be pissed at him even subconsiously for a crappy performance when a family is spending a grand to go to a game than it was to boo a guy making 50K and you took your family to the game for $30 bucks.

Big business and big money creates pressure. Teams just like companies that don't perform have shareholders and fans to answer to.

I hear ya JTuds and WB, it's just threads like this are so worthless. Look we all know there is something wrong with CP or maybe he is just done, what he has gone through in his career its amazing he is still playing in the NFL. But to constantly kick a guy when he's down is just sad. I guess the OP is one of those people that gets joy out of putting other people down.

I think the biggest reason CP is having a bad year is that he has lost his confidence, where is the country boy that head butts team mates and shows fiery emotion. If any of you were, or are athletes, you know once you lose that confidence it's game over.

Great post I couldnt agree more. How about that wonderful display of tackling on the Eagles first score...Or our number one draft pick who is not an automatic 3 inside the 40.The list is endless

Tony, come on! Don't make false accusations against a guy who wants whats best for his team instead of what is best for Chad Pennington.

You make it sound like Jets fans have turned on Wayne Chrebet or Curtis martin. I think you are overestimating Chad's "untouchability" from criticism.

Even Mo Lewis took criticism, and justifiably so.

Yeah, but half the list has to do with Chad and over shadows any one play over a 60 minute game.

You can make for anything in football, except a QB that can't throw the ball. Not even the Bears running game, great D and awesome special teams could cover for a QB that couldn't make throws.

The blue and gold throwback uniforms went well with Chad's blonde locks.

I hate him because he is a huge fucking nothing at the quarterback position. Fine, be embarrassed to be a Jets fan. That's your decision. It's not like I'm cheering him getting hurt. It's not like I'm being a drunken fan at the games. It's not like I'm getting into fights at the stadium. Those are on the same level as hating an extremely mediocre, overpaid, under-skilled quarterback, though?

Why is he beyond critcism and hatred? What has he given us? Playoff appearances where we did shit? Fine, you revel in those playoff appearances. NOBODY REMEMBERS THE LOSERS. And besides, I think it's safe to say that last year, we made the playoff in spite of Chad.

I'm sorry, he has done nothing that makes him undeserving of having fans turn on him. Please, explain to me why he is above that.

The fact that you think that his was the first sign of trouble says enough. But each to his own, I'm glad you answered.

Couldnt disagree with you more...Defense wins football games. Giants had a great D when they won SB ,Ravens had one , Bears, ...Look at Indy when they had a great offense and no D they could not win the big one. They got a D and bada bing they win. Nope to many problems on this team to blame one player. I agree he is part of the problem , but by no way is he the whole problem.

  19. I'm usually the last person on earth to over value the QB position. In the modern NFL...everything is judged based on the QB. That is not always the best thing to do...as there are 21 other main positions that play apart in things.

We most def. have our problems defensively. But offensively...Chad IS the main problem. The WR's have proven they can make plays, Jones has proven he can run the ball when teams arent crowding the line, and the OL has improved drastically in recent weeks w/ Brick developing into a pass protecting force.

What is holding all that back? What turns us into 2 yard dump passes and a cloud of dust? I'm sorry..but that all is falling on Chad.

I was all alone three or four years ago when I pointed out that Mike Vick and Chad Pennington completely sucked monkey balls.

Glad I gave up on Chad in 03 when it was completely evident that there was no way he was ever winning a championship…I have a lot less invested in him.
