Fargas would be a great pick up for the Jets.

    Washington, Fargas, and mr Greene.

Still need a big time pass rusher, either OLB or DE. I don't know if I want to lock EVERYBODY up. Injuries do enter into it, and the cap will return.

    This backfield:
Compound Tibia/Fibula injury, shot knee which cannot pass a physical and Rib fractures and Ankle tears.

The Jets need a back that did not spend a good portion of last season or a good portion of the still young offseason in a cast or on crutches.

Unfortunately, that is the life of an NFL RB. I feel sorry for them when they reach my age (not 40 just yet). If they can walk they are very lucky.

Which is why we need to draft a younger HB to take the load. And to perpetuate the cycle of ruining halfback's legs for their later years.

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but is there any interest in Ray Edwards out in Minnesota?

He's got only a 1st round tender, he's 25, and he really seems to be coming into his own. Obviously he received a great benefit playing opposite Allen, but I believe he's good against the run and can also rush the edge fairly well.

Is it worth considering giving up our low 1st rounder to sign him? I could be way off here, but I searched his name and didn't see anything immediately.

Brodney Pool is coming in for a visit.

he's a good player.. young with lots of starting experience. Only problem is he's had several concussions now, but the Browns are willing to let him walk. Wouldnt mind this signing at all.

Is this that bad of an idea? Did I just go all SDS™ (Sign Darren Sharper) in this thread?

    yes.

Ray Edwards for the Jets 1st rounder would get Tanny fired.

We better not sign Pool or Jackson. We better draft a RB to Jones. We better draft a safety to replace Rhodes. If we lose Leon, we better draft another RB. We need DE, and DT. We have more losses than gains right about now. Jones went for free. Rhodes went for hardly nothing. There is nothing out there in FA. We need draft picks and we need them now. Youth movement, is the only way to go. The FO is standing a little bit close to the edge right about now.

I think we go DE first round Safety Second round. Then draft another RB later. Washington is still on the team and and we have another Washington on practice squad who could be looking to make some noise in the NFL.

I hope (and think) that it's a little too early to predict our draft picks. Anyway, waiting to hear what comes out of the Brodney Pool visit (Marlin Jackson just got signed by the Eagles BTW).

    boredom... bleh

i hope we dont sign pool. impossible to predict draft because there's absolutely no telling what Tanny has lined up for signing and trading to fill our gaps before then.

If we are still bringing in DB's for visits, clearly these positions are not on the top of the list on the Jets draft boards. I think we will be going in a different direction in April. I really can't see us taking (at the very least) an early pick on WR or DB/S. I just don't see it.

So, I think a safety and depth CB is in fact going to happen before this draft.

I was just about to post something similar. I haven't heard a single rumor involving a DE so that might be a direction we could go in early in the draft. Or it could just be a smokescreen, who knows?

If we sign either Pool or Jackson, it is starting to feel like the Pete Kendall scandal all over again. That being said you can not lose an important cog in a well oiled machine. Starting to sound like that fiasco all over again. FO you are on notice starting today...you have to have greater than or equal value of who you replace period. This is the year that the FO is on notice and Mr T either produces or......well, Woody shows Webo's . We have 5 years total to hoist the Lombardi Trophy. Thats it, and by my accounts 4 years maximum. The window of opportunity is closing. Sam, quit calling my house asking for my hard earned bucks for seats in the "new Stadium" when the gents get all the credit. I am tired of being "second citizen." As hard as it may seem, some teams know how to draft, and how to opperate in FA.For us to even compete it is critical that ALL our draft picks have to contribute right away. This is the year of the draft for us and the future for the NYJs. To you "old timers" and die hard JETS fans.........WTF?

I just got a text from ESPN that LaDanian Tomlinson is visiting with the Jets Friday, Vikings Thursday.

    My first reaction is.... "What??"
