You have a very one dimensional view of sports in general. Point guard means nothing if you don't have a solid defense, and are not winning on the boards. In baseball, I agree defense is dominated by the pitcher, but you need an offense too and your pitcher doesn't usually supply that. In football you can win with by dominating the LOS in the running game and your QB doesn't need to do much more than hand off an throw some high percentage passes. Next season let's just put a QB other there and see how he does.

Well said. Ive been saying the same thing but many dont understand it or are too focused on one position to look at the others short coming's.

This isnt just a one position fix, this is a whole organization fix. Obviously a good QB can cover up much of the other positions on offense, but right now we dont have that luxury.

I never really bought in to the idea that the line was ever playing good this year. They had a few good games against weak Dlines and that's about it. The line needs work. We should draft a tackle and guard early. 11 sacks is atrocious even for a shaky noob under pressure against a decent defense.

I don't want to compare McElroy to Sanchez. A first round pick and a seventh round pick have way different expectations. McElroy coming into the game in the 4th quarter against Arizona and starting these last 2 games is exceeding any expectations people had of him off the bad whereas much higher expectations are expected from the 5th pick in a draft.

That said the offensive line is trash and as time progresses I feel that people will realize Sanchez wasn't as much at fault as people originally believed for their struggles. That doesn't absolve him from blame. He deserved blame but I don't see him as the scapegoat he's made out to be.

The question is: What team drafts a QB with 1 year of experience past HS to lead a NY franchise with little to no help along the way? Furthermore, what team drafts the same QB and isn't willing to develop him, knowing all of this?

5th pick: that is on the Jets, not Sanchez.

yes let's not judge the last 2 years of games...lets use the 1 game of all of them that is completely meaningless to draw conclusions.

O-line needs 2 new Guards, Brandon Moore needs a pay-cut & bring him off the bench. Slauson also needs a pay-cut & he becomes an experienced bench role player OG/C. Jets would then have better O-line depth. Jets neeed 2 new Guards....Vets or rookies...but must be smart, big & strong. A fast, shifty RB would also make O-line look better.Moore, Slauson & Ducasse....nice O-line depth & all would have NFL experience. Ducausse might end up as a Guard in NFL, which isnt the worst thing Ducasse also needs to learn Center position. Better O-line coach also helps group.
