Replacing Schottenheimer with Norv Turner won't mess with the continuity, I guarantee you. (keeping my finger crossed for Charger failure)

This. Kubiak is a way better OC than mcdaniels IMO. He's also a far more logical candidate than mcdaniels

If Rex gets the chance, he'll hire Hue Jackson like he originally wanted to. And I'd be thrilled if that happened

Conner is very underrated as a pass catcher. He would be a much better WCO fullback thAn most people would assume.

Unless the Jets collapse these last two weeks or Schotty get a HCing opportunity there is about zero chance he is going anywhere. Dont think either of those possibilties are very realistic which means Schotty coming back next season and that is a good thing. Last thing we need is for Sanchez to be learning a new offense heading into his 3rd season.

I tend to agree with this but the Schotty haters will want blood for this opinion. I still believe the long term benefits of continuity for a QB like Mark far outweigh the negatives that Schotty brings. I also think the negatives will become less and less as Mark develops even further.

Of course there will be the people that will tell us that Schotty is holding Mark back but I find that hard to buy when you look at his overall play this year compared to last year.

    Unstoppable.

I've said it since week one.

Short passing game, get Mark over 65% a game..30 pts a night.

    He is.

    It's run..Short pass...Down the field.

    Schotty hates that middle component.

Mark's compl. % is a product of the scheme.

The fact that he flirts with 55% is a plus for Schotty and Mark.

But...every week should look like last week, with Mark at 65%.

    We'd be 15-1.

wouldn't Cavanaugh be the choice for OC? Knows the system, knows Sanchez, knows Rex? Callie has stated all he wants to do is coach OL.

This is why I'm convinced that Rex brought Cavanaugh in as Schottenheimer's future replacement.

Cavanaugh makes Sanchez sad, is that really the guy you want running the offense?

Sanchez is terrible, though. He just doesn't look like a good QB out there. You can look at stats, which show h isn't very good, or you can watch him play. He is far from something special. I wish we got all those draft picks back.

Ignoring the stupidity of the rest of this post... they gave up a second round pick and some crappy players for Sanchez if I remember correctly.

At this point I'd take anyone but Schotty. McD, Kubs, Norv, Cavanugh, Callahan...just not Mr. 4th and 1 wildcat draw...

when rex first came here he admitted he was a fish out of water when it came to the offense.

but 2 full years as head coach will change that. already the few times rex stepped in the offense did much better.

starting year 3 rex will be light years ahead of where he was when he was a rookie HC.

rex will want to stay with shotty simply because rex is starting to understand a 'shotty offense' and rex can have more meaningful input.

if rex brings in a new OC, it's back to the beginning for rex.
