He's playing well.. Still think we can sell high. We can def get same production from a rookie or cheaper option.. Ihedigbo has made just as many big plays in very limited playing time. Just saying
word, still dont like him ... also, on that leonard pick, hes running next to leonard instead of gettin out in front of him and layin someone out with a block turnover returns are the one thing that baltimore did well that i havent seen rex bring over here ... but theres still time!
hate kerry, love kerry, love to hate him. I can't figure him out, but I think he can turn into a cancer in the locker room with all his parties. to be honest we should shop him.
Still not a good center fielder, but he will make a play every once in a while and a possible turnover, so you get what you get from him. He has the physical ability of a HOFer and the mental acuity of a spotted mushroom. His head is never really in the game. And he is terrible at zone responsibilities. That was the problem in the Dolphins game when he blew the coverage handoff on the touchdown that Ginn had, and he totally blew the over the top coverage on that Kris WIlson TD in the Chargers game. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/20100...ox-score#tab:watch/contentId:09000d5d815cb7ee
wow that makes me so sick.. he could of prevented that touchdown.. And hell that pass looked so easy.. look at the perfect coverage on gates(i think thats him on the bottom) those pictures above spell interception all over them.
Not a fan...has been improving but he still shies away from big hits in the open field which, for this team, is unacceptable.
They were in cover 2 and the Chargers sent three deep. Another reciever was at the top of the play and he ran deep and Rhodes had to decide to cover Wilson or the other reciever. I think it was play action as well and Bart Scott got sucked into the los, otherwise I think Bart was responsible for man coverage on the tight end. It's tough to say if this play was Rhodes fault without knowing the actual assignments. Was it a man cover 2? or was in a straight up zone? Either way someone screwed up since no one ever seems to get that open against this defense.
Yeah, that play really is designed to freeze the deep safety, and it worked. Lowery was on Jackson up the right sideline, Revis and I believe Thomas are doubling Gates, Rhodes should have recognized the mismatch that Wilson posed for Bart un the middle of the field, but his play recognition sucks and he couldn't make a quick enough decision to commit to Wilson over Jackson. He was trying to read River's eyes, and PR looked off Jackson and hit Wilson in the middle of the endzone. A good coverage safety doesn't get fooled that easily.
I'm a Kerry Rhodes fan, and will be until he's no longer wearing green. I think people are absolutely ridiculous in their hatred of him. People are concerned with this "locker room cancer" bullshit, yet it appears whenever you see his teammates talk to him or about him that they're friends. This fanbase puts too much emphasis on bullshit they think is reality. At least guys like abyzmul have a legit gripe with him, and it's all based on his play on-field. Personally, the only time I've really been upset with him was when he strip sacked Rivers and was busy celebrating, rather than jumping on the ball. That was just stupid, and based on Rex's postgame grimace when Rhodes was mentioned, I'm betting Kerry heard something about that. But I'd say he more than made up for it with the onside kick recovery. And given that Rex did say he was glad Kerry Rhodes on the Jets on Sunday, I'll bet Rex felt so too.
It looked like Lowery was singled up on Jackson on the other side of the field, but Revis and Thomas were in a zone on the other side. Leonhard and Harris were blitzing. I would say that it is a tough assignement for a safety, but he should have committed to one man or the other deep, instead the stood there in the middle until the ball was in the air and then committed to Wilson too late - if a safety is late to commit to a deep coverage, they might as well not be on the field.
As long as he keeps playing at the level he's been recently, I will be a fan of Kerry Rhodes the player. He's still sounds like a douchebag whenever he opens his mouth.

And what is the use of a deep coverage when you have a clear mismatch of a MLB on a tall wideout? Rhodes failed to commit to a man at all and just stood there like a mannequin until the ball was released. There was a back that stayed in to block, but looked like he could release, and the Jets were sending 2 blitzers. Scott can't cover the entire field. You have a safety back there for a reason, And he wasn't covering anyone.
Can't say Bart blew it imo.. I don't expect him to be covering WR(expect him to help like how thomas did with revis)..as well as a agile Kerry Rhodes could.
Cover-2 implies 2 deep safeties. Jim Leonhard was going after the QB in the backfield. It was a zone blitz. In a case like that, the safety has to be able to recognize mismatches and support them (kind of like Revis did by taking the hand-off from Bryan Thomas).
im sure tanny wouldn't let us get nothing for kerry if he decided to do the trade. In Tanny We Trust!
You get what you get from Kerry. I don't think he will ever be a good cover man, but his athleticism gives him a chance to be in position to make big plays that change games. If we make it to the Super Bowl and somehow win the whole thing, I would not be surprised to see Kerry Rhodes win SB MVP at the end of it.
