I couldnt find a thread to put this in so i guess ill put it here, The Patriots are bringing in Dwight freeney and John Abraham, and Adrian Wilson for visits. Man can you imagine if all 3 of them sign there?Looks like there gearing up to win now
No...the Jets dont need a new QB, they need to donate 15% Of the salary cap to a CB, that will hold out again in 2 years. Come on Idzik get it done,.
I don't agree with blowing up the OL. I would not sign Moore, but I am keeping Mangold and D'Brick. Geez, it all starts with the OL, its still our strength and with Sprano gone, it should be better. I am ok with shedding older guys and not wasting big $ on anyone this year. Bargain basement shoppers we should be
1. I am more than aware of the importance of the OL. 2. That said, I would like you to look at WHY I think it should be a consideration. It is more than "This guy is good - should stay a Jet" thing.
The Jets are not going to be bad this year. They scraped out 6 with absolute shit on the offensive side off the ball, and would have had 7 if Hill doesnt drop the ball in the NE game. Notice there are plenty of OGs available. On the otherside, Rex can make Chicken Salad out of Chickenshit, and...we still have most pf the defense slotted. Davis will replace Scott, leaving two OLB spots, Josh Bush will step in at FS, leaving SS Not exactly a tall order considering our draft position, the current state of Free Agency...(ed reed is available) Imagine that... If you get Reed on a one or two year deal, and Victor butler....you bring Bush down onside.,,one hole to fill in the first drsft where you actually have all your picks. idzik is doing a good job waiting till Free Agents wil be visiting with hats in hand. But, my point is..as is Zachs.,,the wailing and gnashing of teeth is more deserving of a Pamprin, that consideration. Its always darkest before the dawn. Onward and Upward. What are we dolphin fans?
Jets are going into a full blown rebuild. Hopefully three or four years from now we will have a powerhouse team that is built the right way. Hopefully that team will be a contender for many years not just one or two years.
Depends on how Idzik operates. If he shells out monster contracts year in and year out a la Tannenbaum, then it will be more of the same. That means, I would like these 10M contracts all gone by the end of next season. (Read: 2014 - 2015) That means Ferguson and Mangold as well, on top of Cro/Harris contracts. Nacho and Tone are both gone, hopefully.
You think this approach would have worked when unproven rookies were being paid more than proven vets? Tannenbaum was working under a completely different set of rules that changed last year.
Finally a gm that is going about building a team instead of bringing high price veterans who come here and fail to produce
