James Ugochu Ihedigbo [ee-HEAD-ee-BO] is an American football safety who is currently a free agent in the National Football League. He was signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2007. He played college football at Massachusetts. In a 16–13 overtime loss to the Buffalo Bills on October 18, 2009, Ihedigbo and fellow Jet Marques Murrell threw punches at Bills Tight End Derek Fine, prompting Ihedigbo to be ejected from the game by officials. The NFL fined both players for $5,000 and head coach Rex Ryan benched Ihedigbo, along with Murrell, for the following game against the Oakland Raiders.
Adam Schefter Another big move for the Bills: Buffalo is releasing former first-round pick Aaron Maybin. Not saying we should or shouldn't sign him just posting it lol
The knock on Maybin has always been his ability to stop the run....I know he does not have a sack just like Vernon, but they are different players. Maybin is athletically gifted and has that explosiveness that Gholston did not. Vern relied on his strength to outmuscle college lineman, something he could not do in the NFL. Add in his stiff hips, and it was a major bust. Maybin came out a year too early and was too small to make an impact right away. He still has that explosiveness to be an effective pass rusher in the right system with the right coaching. Aside from Westerman, nobody on this roster is worth having more than him IMO for our 4th OLB.
Bingo. It's not worth taking your 11th overall pick and making him into a situational pass rusher, but for the Jets, it would be.
He showed up to camp weighing 228 pounds.. I don't see how he can be an effective linebacker in this league (especially since he was inactive for a team as awful as the bills), for the Jets or anybody else.
Wow, he was just drafted in '09. Buffalo obviously passed on tons of superior players, including Orakpo and, probably most egregiously, Josh Freeman.
I honestly believe we should give Maybin a shot here. I mean, our pass rush from the OLB is suspect, and both starters are getting up in age. I mean, for a minimum or a little or it couldn't hurt to see in in our last 3 pre-season games.
I trust Rex's judgement completely when it comes to pass rushers. Either Tanny is on the phone with Maybin's agent right now or there is something horribly wrong with him that the untrained eye isn't seeing.
I don't think we're going to take a shot at Maybin. Rex seems to prefer bigger OLB so I don't think he's going to be too interested in a player who struggles with maintaining his size.
Nah, Hunter's the man here and Stinchcomb won't have to settle for backup work. He's a good player though, I assume he'll be signed quickly.
