Almost every report I've seen on television from draft experts say he does not, and his talents would be wasted as a 3-4 end, that's why.

He'd be a big waste of $ at a 3-4 end, that's why. 3-4 ends need to clog space, not necessarily rush the passer.

I think drafting him would be a huge mistake.

People are saying Williams cant play in a 3/4 is wrong. Besides just because they are a base 3/4 they will play a 4/3 plent of times. Mangini said they will play to the opponent so every game could be different. Also we are thin at d.ends anyway. Thomas is going to play more lb then end and that leaves us with Ball and Johson as backups. They will add a d/end either with Williams or a perfect fit in Stanley McClover. No he is not related to D. McClover.

Right now, with the Clement signing and the Ramsey trade and the Dyson, Cassell, Pople, and everyone else being signed, we have depth virtually everywhere, freeing us to go best player available more easily.

Yes we have. But how many OLB's have we signed??? Most of our lb's will be inside or special teams

Why doesn't Williams fit as a 3-4 end?

Doesn't hurt to have a 3-4 end to rush the passer. The guy checks in a 295, for Pete's sake. He could take up some blockers.

New York Jets OT Anthony Clement's one-year contract with the team included a base salary of $710,000. ..... One year depth.

Is Seymour a waste of $ at a 3-4 end?

How does signing a scrub coming off a major injury "rules out D brick"?

I was wrong Clements played r/t last year. He can play either side. WE will see in camp what happens. When they draft a tackle in the latter part of the draft he will compete with Clements. If they still sign Pearson also then Clements is no more then an insurance policy.

For all of htose saying the DE in a 3-4 just takes up blockers........ didn;t Bruce Smith play in a 3 - 4 defense? Thank God Seymour never makes big plays in the 3 - 4 he plays. If Williams is THAT good, he will evade blockers even when they try to double him. And if they happen to block him, the LB gets a good shot at m,aking the play. This ain't rocket science........ but I'd be happy with Hawk, too:)
