Its funny how my simple comment turns into this. All I said was the thing I like about Sparano is that it is Rex's guy and he finally has a coaching staff of all his coaches.
OK I'm an idiot. OK fine he had really good games as a second option. I may be an idiot, but I sure as shit ain't no homer.
Big Blocker is right, Rex couldn't land the coordinators he wanted. It turns out Paul Brown and Tom Landry were both deceased when the jobs were available. If the jets don't win every game they ever play from this point forward, you know who to blame: the Grim Reaper.
The newbies are a rather poor crop talentwise here. Did the Jets interview Todd Haley or not? What did Tony Sparano do last year? He got fired, by Miami. Suck on that.
To put this argument to rest, can you please provide an article that says Haley turned down a coaching position with the Jets. Thank you.
Sparano might have been a horrible choice then again maybe not. We needed a change at OC we now have it we will see how it plays out. Ryan wanted Sparano he might have wanted Haley also but it looks like it was a Sparano/Haley more than he wanted a passing game coordinator or else he would have hired one. It also looks like Sparano and Haley were pushing for it if Haley could not land another job. Either way no one will ever know for sure we know Haley had success in Arizona and would have been a good hire as a passing coach. He is also a bit of lightning rod that without Sparano would not have worked in the jets locker room. The jets are also notorious for not paying their coaches very well so that might have been a factor to. Either way Rex's hires are now coaching no more excuses.
http://arrowheadaddict.com/2012/01/...ching-down-with-the-jets-according-to-report/ Seems Haley might not have been wanted after all Tony Sparano and Todd Haley talked about joining forces again this offseason, but it doesn’t look like it will happen. Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Jets and Haley came to a “mutual decision” in recent days that Haley will not join Sparano on the team’s staff. Sparano is the offensive coordinator. He’s more well versed in the running game, so the idea was that Haley would be a quarterbacks coach/passing game coordinator. Mehta writes Haley won’t join the staff barring an “eleventh-hour” reversal.
More than likely, being offered the Pitt OC job was the real factor. More prestige, likely more money, and likely a better shot at playoff success as well as another HC gig down the road.
Shunnige greene is terrible. worst in the league. pickup blount or benjarvis green ellis for jerome bettis. better yet, start mcknight as the feature back. hire schotty back and have him run the offense. or get that guy haley and have sparano make french fries in the greaser oven w/ saftey googgles on. start the 3rd sting qb from alabama, make holmes the captain and trade revis for a 3rd round draft pick
I've asked this same thing multiple times of BB, and he refuses to respond. He said has me on ignore since I called him out for being a D-bag to everyone that posts on this board, and then he went on to be a complete D-bag to everyone on this post. Better be ready for your insult that's coming. ( or maybe if you're lucky like me he'll just add you to ignore ).
It's not the first time I've noticed his "facts" don't match reality... but I didn't think it worth arguing over for 8 pages. He must be a blast at parties.
Or... Big Blocker shows his Big ego by arguing over a simple comment for 5 pages on a thread about a RB
You care enough to post several times in this thread, taking shots at me. I don't remember - did I ever criticize something you did here? Argument. That is certainly one of the main things we do here. What's the problem? It was on a point of substance, which is did the Jets get the coaches they wanted this year or not? I think at one point, a point where they already had Sparano, they continued interviewing. Much talk out of Jet beat reporters was that Haley was being considered to run the passing game. And he ended up in Pitt, not with the Jets. It was in any event another poster here who made the claim that Ryan got the coaching staff he wanted. I merely questioned how we could conclude that given the scenario involving Haley. The relevance going forward is, as we shall soon see, how well Sparano does, particularly in the passing game. Is this not a worthy subject for discussion around here? You respond with personal attacks on me. As if only I was arguing with these newbies here. What were their posts, if not arguments? I really think you are off base, but apparently you feel differently. That's fine, but I did not start out with making personal attacks aimed at you.
He's got a big set of balls and very small set of brains for calling someone out about any "personal attacks" He has me on ignore so won't read this but I'm amazed that he still refuses to accept that so many "newbies" and grade school dropouts blatantly were able to prove his side of the argument wrong. With facts, reason, and sources, Of which he has provided none. Other then to insult just about everyone who's joined the discussion on the opposite side of his.
Pretend this is 2011 and we are on a Texans board... What did Wade Phillips do last year? He got fired. Suck on that.
