Again, the OL has played like trash as a whole. I actually think Greene has looked sharp running off-tackle and on pitches.
Interesting time to make a thread about this after his best game by far, when he actually looked pretty good. When this team falls behind and gets involved in shootouts, which could be often this year the way the D is playing, LT is gonna be in and that will limit Greene's numbers and effectiveness.
They've been down by double digits in the 4th quarter twice this season, and had one game against a QB who has no business playing in the NFL. If they keep playing like this there will be lots of games Greene is on the bench and LT is in while the O tries to catch up.
Plays like the Sanchez almost-pick six, Cromartie fumble today, Sanchez fumble week 1 have inflated those leads. The D hasn't been great, but not bad enough to start questioning it.
The defense was as bad today as it's probably ever been under Ryan. Giving up big plays in the passing game is one thing but getting consistently run over like the Jets did today is extremely troubling.
Is it? The Fins ran all over us in the 09 MNF game, and people started to question it then as well. Let's wait and see if it keeps happening before we start getting "troubled", capiche?
He's never going to put up big numbers as a feature back, but he's a great player to have on your team when he's fresh and it's a cold weather game....playoff time that is.
They gave up 200+ yards on the ground in 3 quarters, I doubt they've come anywhere near that in the past 2+ years. It was really bad.
As much as the offensive line sucked today, you have to give most of the blame on the defense for this lost. McFaddden ran all over us.
Well that game was a sauna, I was there. The defense got worn down. I think this Oakland game has a different feel. The Jets got a good old smack down..........
No, you're right, just because teams with little to absolutely no passing threat have managed to run the ball well against what's supposed to be a strength of the Jets defense, there's no reason for concern.
I thought the strength of the defense was the secondary? And glad you agree it's not an issue until it becomes an issue.
I thought he had a pretty awesome game when he was actually able to find a gap and not get smothered behind the los.
Revis is the strength of the defense, and he's 1 out of 4 guys in the secondary in the base formation. With the exception of the the Jacksonville game the other 3 have not looked good, and that may be generous.
So what you're saying is Revis is good and the rest of the defense sucks. Gotcha. Looks like were in for a long year because Sanchez sucks, Schott sucks, OL sucks, and the entire defense execpt Revis sucks. Should we suck for Luck?
The defense was absolutely dreadful today, and that shouldn't be up for debate. They weren't that great against the Cowboys either. A major concern so far this season.
