My point is that the context of the interview doesn't matter. It's what is actually said versus what the reporting is going to turn it into.

He's supposed to roar on the playing field, not with his mouth in the media and provide bulleting board fodder for the other team. He needs to learn to keep his stupid effing mouth shut, and you need to learn that this type of crap only hurts, and doesn't help.

Perhaps, but even so, I think he needs to be smart enough to avoid even answering questions like that and let his play on the field answer the questions. When asked questions like that he can laugh, shrug his shoulders and say "No comment" or "I prefer to let our play on the field answer your question" or something to that extent.
Would you classify him as someone who doesn't talk smack? Back to back weeks he's quoted in the media. At this point it's not about what you're asked and what you say. It's about how the headlines going to be spelled out. Players have to be reasonably smarter than the questions they're asked and as a whole they're not. I don't agree with the way the media twists the words but I do recognize that it doesn't matter whether anyone agrees with it or not. It's the reality of what's going to happen.
It's hard to expect players to do that but it's not like half the league isn't asked if they think they're going to win next week. Reporters seek out the one player who will say "we're definitely going to win," so it turns their shitty reporting into headline material.
His yapping is not going to win or lose this game. If ne needs this as fuel than they are really scared of losing to us. JMO
