The roll of the d-lineman in a 3-4 defense is to force the o-line to man up blocking them which in turns opens up free lanes for the 4 linebackers and safety to make a clean run at the QB. Our 3 d-lineman are actually better than just eating up blockers. They can actually beat dbl teams and get to the QB (MO already has 8 sacks which is unheard of for a d-lineman in a 3-4 scheme). Losing Barton, our outside pass rushing threat, really hurt especially with Couples coming on slow and Pace, well, being Pace. Can't wait for our front 7 to get back to full strength with a true outside threat to go along with the Sons. Down right scary.
This just may the defense that takes down the great Tom Brady, With these guys we have his days are numbered. Wont see him again this year unless we should meet in the post season. But next year OH BABY. P.S. WHAT a great pick in place of Revis.
I'm just continually amazed by the fact that the leagues best (curently active) nose tackle was just hanging out as an undrafted free agent. That seems preposterous...talk about striking gold!
Its about time that the Jets struck gold with an UDFA. The Giants have Cruz, the Texans have Foster...we have Snacks!
Wilkerson an Richardson have both benefited from Harrison in the middle, snacks is a complete beast, these 3 if healthy, should strike fear into opposing QB's, for years to come
http://m.nydailynews.com/sports/foo...ardson-play-matches-bravado-article-1.1519353 I think he needs to chill a bit.
We have plenty of time to get to that. You never know, if he does keep it up, I could see him as one of the best DL in the NFL. Actually, he's pretty close already. He might deserve that money. What this tells me is that he won't stop until he is the best, and if he is the best, them he deserves the money.
Well as far as who draws the most double teams on the line hes pretty close to Mo, I love the confidence too, Bart Scott Jr. right there.
I hated the pick and wanted Warmack....but to answer the question, he's ahead of Mo at the same point in their career....which is awesome!
did you read the whole article and see that he backs off and says " i am definitely 2nd.... for now" he isn't saying anything, just keeping things loose and having fun. good for him and actually props to mhetta. he could have twisted that quote into some crazy drama and didn't. although i wonder if the jets were 3-6 how the article would have read?
I didn't read the article initially. I love Sheldon's confidence either way though. I just hope that we will be able to keep this group together for a while.
