What does that mean? Chi was running the ball well in the first half and 1 good run put them in FG position after the OSK. if They get the 1 run starting at their 30-35 then they are not in FG range. It was an idiotic call up there w/ the 4th and G from the 3 call against Indy.

Some people like aggressive football, others prefer to play not to lose. I like the former.

Agreed. Here's a novel thought, maybe they could have just kept punting to eachother by playing conservative football. I don't mind the call at all, personally. The D had them in check the entire first half. Our special teams are very good. F it. Try anything to win.

There is agressive and then there is stupid, Mangini is making stupid decisions. Why aren't we agressive inside the 10? we run it twice and set up 3rd and a long 5 from the 5. That's where he should have been agressive not w an OSK to start the 2nd half giving Chi 3 free pts in a game whre pts were almost impossible to come by. He should have been agreesive on 4th and 12 w/ under 7 mins left down 10, that's where he needs to be agreesive but tie game late in the 3rd qtr it's stupid to go for it 4th and G from the 3 and kicking an OSK in a scoreless game is stupid as well.

That is the dumbest statement in the world. The Jets sucked on Run D the entire game, and just because they stopped Grossman in the 1st half, they are now like the 85 Bears?

You're damn right I am right as usual. They were all on the ground meaning chi had 80 yds rushing in the first half- that's a good total, right? so 1 run and they are in FG range after the OSK.

Chi didn't make silly decisions and they won b/c they didn't take insane chances.

81 yards rushing is alot for a half. They couldn't sustain any drives because Grossman could not complete a pass over a yard. They come out of the locker room and with a short field have a couple nice runs and all of a sudden they're in scoring range. Grossman did not attempt a pass on the drive. I don't believe they would've been able to do this if they had started off from a more "normal" field position.

Maybe because Chicago's run D was suspect? You might not have gotten that memo. Infact we busted out a couple of really nice runs on them already.

Maybe he should have called over to KC for some advice.

A few quick thoughts from a Bears fan (although not an A-hole one, I like to think)...

    1) The 2 INTs - I see NYJEcko151 doesn't want to give any credit to our D, but this is crazy. That first pick was all Urlacher. There aren't many MLBs around who can read a QB and react on a play like that. There are so many INTs in the league when a DB gets a gift because the ball sails and drops right into their lap. This however was just a great athletic play.

The 2nd one, not so much. But the Bears did apply good pressure to force it.

    2) Winstonbiggs - Did you actually say that the Jets D outplayed the Bears D? I have to think you meant to say the Bears O there, I mean cmon, how much better can we do than a shutout?

    3) You guys are dwelling on the onside kick too much. It was a bad call, but not fatal. If the game was 3-0, you might have an argument.

Also wondered what your guys opinion is of our chances this weekend against the Pats. I have to think the Bears have a good shot to beat them if Grossman can turn it up a little. If there's one trend that rings true this season for us, he doesn't seem to have two bad games in a row.

You're more than likely correct. The point is, they were being aggressive trying to shorten the field for themselves, by catching the Bears off guard. It didn't work. Shit happens. In no way did that play lose the game. Chad not knowing how to throw out of bounds lost that game. Nothing more, nothing less.

It'd be interesting what the reaction to this play would've been if Drew Coleman didn't fall down and the Jets lose 3-0. I'll agree that it didn't lose the game, but I do think it was not a smart play from a risk/reward standpoint, especially how the game was playing out and I hope not to see it again.

My reaction would have been the same really. Considering they should have had 7 already.

I'm going to be brutally candid here. I was not at all impressed with your Bears yesterday. If I were a stranger to the standings statistics on the last page of my Sports Section and you told me this is a 9-1 team, from watching them yesterday I'd probably say, "No way in hell!"

Grossman is not going to take you to the Promised Land. Your offense was flat. It was a quiet game "of field position," which ususlaly translates into a boring game in which no one makes many significant plays. You won't win a championship playing the way you did yesterday. Your defense was adequate enough to keep us from scoring. But if you eliminate Urlacher's aggressive pick, our idiotic decision to present an OSK at the start of the half, and Eric Coleman slipping and falling down, this game smacked of a Jets victory from where I sat.

Not trying to be trolling here, but you did ask. You'll have your hands full with the Pats this weekend.
