I don't think he meant for it to sound that way. I think he wants Mark to play well AND for the Jets to win the SB.
Yeah. Fuck facts. Like Eli's 2 World Championships and 2 Super Bowl MVP's. Those are stupid. Sanchez is better.
Eli wouldnt' even BE in this position if Lady Luck didn't decide to basically carry him on her back to the finish-line...
Yeah, lady luck. He won his division (9-7 or not.......don't act like you wouldn't stick up for the Jets if they had won theirs at 9-7) He beat a 10-6 Falcons team He beat a 15-1 Packers team (with the league MVP) on the road He beat a 13-3 team on the road for the NFC title He beat a 13-3 team on a neutral field to win his 2nd world title (and he was the MVP...for the 2nd time). Stop with the "lucky" bullshit. Seriously.
Sorry but luck is only going tot ake you so far, o.k. the Giants caught a few breaks during the season. Please tell me a team that doesnt. For the record the TEAM WINS not just the Qb....
Let's be real, unlike his brother Eli is fucking clutch. He now has 2 SB ring and 2 SB MVPs. In both SBs Eli had to drive his team down field for the game winning drives. Nothing about the way he played tonight was luck.
no i meant as a barometer of Mark's play mark can be great but if the rest of the team don't step up we won't win the superbowl.
you beat me to it..anyone that is claiming the Giants only won becuase of luck is crazy. The Giants get hot at the right time just like they did in their first Superbowl Win.
"He"?? Lmao! Funny, Sanchez did the samething but unfortunately our "He" defense decided to collapse in both AFCCG's.... #faksdontcount
Maybe if he didnt suck during the year, the defense wouldnt have to be on the field for a 3rd straight game on the road before the super bowl. Just sayin....
There are plenty of QB's who have had 3 bad seasons to start their career, and the majority of them never panned out like Eli. The difference is Eli finally understood how to run a complex, pass-oriented offense later in his career. Eli's career path is not a trend and is unique: you can't project it onto Sanchez or any other quarterback. The good news is that the lightbulb in Sanchez's head might finally turn on in the near future. The bad news is, we have a run-oriented offensive coordinator with a head coach who wants to implement ground and pound.
Yes he won his division which was pretty damn crappy this season and if Eric Smith knew how to fucking tackle, that wouldn't have happened. Matty Lice is a Choker and he proved it once again, even with all the weapons he was given. yeah he beat a 15-1 Packers team that dropped 8..count'em...EIGHT Key Passes in that game. Only because their Punt-returner had a Brain-Fart and lost the ball TWICE. And had Less Welker caught that pass he dropped, this game was a wrap and there is no Eli MVP or SB Win. No I won't because I just stated the obvious above. I mean seriously...If you can't see that the Giants weren't the beneficiaries of not just a couple of breaks but A BUNCH OF BREAKS, then I don't know what to say....
Giants do seem lucky this year, but I heard the Giants fans whining about Jets' luck last season. Luck is something we have to shut up about, it cuts both ways
Braylon........I like your posts. I can discuss stuff without fighting with you. On this case though, you are so very wrong. Should I go back and break down the Jets '68 season and show how much could be deemed luck? You could do that with any team. They didn't get a bye. they won 4 road playoff games. They beat the 1 and 2 seeds in the NFC (along with a 10-6 wild card team), as well as the 1 seed in the AFC in the SB, but you want to pass it off as a shit load of luck? C'mon. you are better than that. I HATE the Giants. I fucking hate them. But lucky? Fuck no. They earned it.
I see your point and can fully understand how you view it but I'm sorry, man. To me, in my eyes, there's just too much damn fucking luck involved..too many breaks for me to fully accept that the Giants earned it through sheer hard-work. That's not to say I plan on dwelling on this forever....I've got a life and more important things to do. But let's just say this is going to sting for a long while.
Can somebody please refer me to a moment in Eli's first 3 years in the NFL where he stepped up in a big moment for the Giants? Oh wait, there's no point. In TGG land we only compare Sanchez in his 3rd year to Eli in his 8th.
