I dont get it "you want season tickets" but your not "buying tickets from guys, even at face value"??? Im not sure if your a wait list member but when tickets become available to you uhhhhh your going to have to pay for them, you do know that right?
I know you're being sarcastic, and I don't really feel like getting into a pissing contest with you right now. Yes, I know I'll have to pay for them when my time comes up. But they'll be mine. I want my own tickets. I want to know where I'm sitting week after week. I can deal with sitting in someone else's seat when someone brings me with them, it's a gift. If I'm paying for it though, I want my own seats. It's simple as that. At some point my (actually my brother's, it's his name on the list) will come up, and we'll be ticket holders the rest of our lives. It's just the way I see it. Being on the outside looking in for so long, I just could never understand someone not wanting to attend every game. Again though, this week kind of showed me why. I'll say this much, I've given fair weight to the tix holders who've posted in the threads this year. While I still stand by any comment I've made so far, I do have more insight into why guys who've invested so much time and money feel the way they do. I may not agree, but I do sort of understand.
Thats fair enough and yes i was being sarcastic, i just dont understand why you wouldnt accept tickets at face value? Now heres a better questions if the Jets were playing to get into or in the playoffs would you buy them at face value? If it were a Green Bay type game in 2002 or Raider game last year? Or if it were a home playoff game? As for being on the waiting list, how long have you and your brother been on it? I can tell you i waited 11 years to get my tickets and had to wait out over 10,000 people. Good luck this years poor season is sure to get you and your brother closer to your very own season tickets.
Good question. I've been thinking about just that since these threads all got started (with my own thread early...) I probably would buy them at that point, but chances are, they wouldn't be available. I actually like watching games on tv to begin with. I tend to miss a lot when I'm at a live game, and that goes for any sport. Plus, DVR is awesome! Still, it's the experience of being at a game. They don't hear me jumping up and down screaming like an idiot in my living room. As far as the waiting list, we just got on before this season. I expect my grandchildren to be grown by the time our number comes up. I don't even know what our number is, but based on the threads I've seen over the past few years on here, it's got to be a pretty big number.
I tell you what. There were tons of tics available for the last 2 games plus the KC game. You big mouths can get them for at least 1/2 the price we paid as season tic holders. So I expect all of you to be at the game and the place to packed. See you at my 7th game of the year ( Went to Bahamas for Skins game) and for all you season tic holders, post your tics because the big mouths are going to buy your tics for $25 each
Yup. I was actually wrong, my tickets are $75 each this year, not $70, so that's $315 I've laid out for this game. So far no PMs here on TGG, what a surprise! So easy to open the mouth, so hard to put the money where the mouth is.
ok first off anyone who is bitching about traffic from new jersey or long island, u suck, i grew up on long isle and my dad took me to all 8 home games regardless(thanks dad, love ya) now my dad mom and 2 lil brothers live in minniapolis, and i goto school at wvu, that being said, i still went to the pats game, the phins game, and (wvu played at rutgers the day before so i was in the area) the bills game, and i am going to the kc game, the poiunt i am trying to make is that it isnt all about how the team is doing, its about spending time with your dad, or your son, or your wife, or your friends, over a shared bond-the jets-through thick and thin, i went to the jets at vikings game last year when the vikes were pathetic, and the metrodome is a huge pos, but it was still packed to the brim, going to football games arent all about winning and losing, and if it is to you, then you should re examine y u are a jets fan, bc we are not a powerhouse franchise, never have been, thats not why i root for them, thats not why despite being 3-10 i walked in the snow to the bar to watch the browns beat us, i root for them because ever since the first time i entered that stadium i felt a closeness, a closeness to the greatest city in the world, a closeness to those few players who gave it there all in spite of eveything, and most importantly, a closeness to my family, that goes from my grandpa (died before i was born) who had titan season tickets,to my dad who has renewed them every year despite living thousands of miles away, lets face it, you cant wake up and be a cowboys or pats fan, and if u can i wouldnt want you to be a fellow jets fan, and i know we suck this year, but you should still try to come to the games if you already have tickets, and if u dont, try to sell them to jets fans, i sell the games we dont goto on ebay, and i wont sell the tix to anyone that doesnt live within the metro area, sure it doesnt filter out all the other fans, but it comes close, bring your son, bring your dad, bring a friend, and try to forget that we are 3-10 and try to remember why ur a jets fan in the first palce
Is anyone else dizzy? Maybe the people who are complaining about heading to the game are in the company of people they don't really like?
I for one got a bit dizzy. But i have a question. You state you "try and sell your tickets to jets fans" but yet you post them on ebay. lol If you really wanted your tickets to fall into the hands of jet fans you would post them on the jets ticket exchange! But because you know you cant make a profit on the ticket exchange and they credit you to your next years invoice, you post them on ebay trying to make a profit.
 Sounds like pwnage to me! BTW: What is Jets ticket exchange? Is that on the Jets' official web site? Now I'm actually starting to rethink my stance on not going simply because I don't own tickets. Then I can talk all the shit I want to those who don't go or don't cheer.
What does pwnage mean??? BTW jets ticket exchange is on their official web site were season ticket holders and wait list members can purchase tickets for face value, thus keeping them in the hands of jets fans only.
So you would buy them when it counts? But when the jets are 3-10 or having a lousy season you wouldnt pay a dime? Im not jumping on your back because i know you already said that you dont blame season ticket holders for not attending the games but thats exactly my point to non season ticket holders who come here and bitch at me and other season ticket holders who sell their tickets. These guys are no different. They bitch about the stadium being half empty and filled with opposing teams fans but they wont buy tickets when they can get them for dirt cheap.
Exactly, thank you!!! They don't even have to pay 1/3 of what we paid, all they have to do is log off the computer and show up. I've gone with extras trying to damn near give them away with no luck.
Internet slang, meaning you "owned" him. I guess you could say it means you verbally put him in a piledriver. I understand your point. As I said, I'm starting to rethink my stance at this point. I really want to be able to go to the games and tell the person that tells me to "sit down and shut up" to shove his tickets up his ass, since I own mine. I just don't feel that way when I go to games and sit in a seat I don't own. I have to check out the web site. I vaguely recall seeing it there, but since I was never on the wait list before, I couldn't take advantage, and never bothered to look again. Thanks for the heads up!
I got ya thats fair enough. As for when you do get your seats their not going to be in the best view. Chances are you'll be sitting in the upper level corner endzone. Lots of advantages and disadvantages to going to the game. Your view isnt the same as it would be of course at home on TV. But nothing beats actually getting to goto a game and hearing the JETS CHANT IN PERSON. Not to mention the tailgating its not the same as going into your backyard and BBQ. But anyway you know all this, you've been to enough games im sure. The ticket exchange is actually something that most NFL teams are getting into. I think more then half offer the ticket exchange and other sports are getting into them as well. They offer season ticket holders and wait list members the chance to purchase tickets from season ticket holders themselves at slightly above face value price. I think the highest it can be sold is at 10% above face. Most people place them at face value. I'm actually thinking of placing my name on the pats waiting list so that i can use their ticket exchange. why pay 300 bucks for a ticket when i can get it at face. I already got my name on the giants waiting list and used their exchange to get tickets to this years giants/jets game.
 This Sunday was one of the first times in ages that I punked out. We had the car warmed up and everything, but they were talking about freezing rain on radio for the way home, so I got apprehensive about it. I didn't stay home because my beloved Jets blow. I stayed home because the idea of seeing them lose and then getting into an accident to top it off seemed like a bad combination. As to tailgating, I look at it this way. You get to see your friends and have a good time. The Jets win, all the better. The Jets lose, you still had a good time. I meant to make some phone calls, but then I ate too much pizza and fell asleep on the couch in the 4th Q.
The people who yell "sit down and shut up" are not season ticket holders. They are the people that just came from the mall and got tickets to the game. I polled 50,000 Jets Season ticket Holders and they all responded that they never uttered the words "sit down and shut up". That proves that season ticket holders do not suck. By the way, I have my Three Tickets for the KC Game (covered Seats) that I am looking to trade for a box of Duraflame Logs.
