RIP Sean Taylor. He was a great player and I remember wanting him in green and white very badly back during the 04 draft, such a tragedy.
I'm not sure if i posted this here yet. Some highlights of ST's career as a Cane. He was truly a talented football player, and was actually very quiet and shy while he was at Miami. He never said much off the field. He let his play on the field do his talking. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdPqi69-qmY&feature=related
R.I.P. Sean. There's so much crap in this world that just doesn't make sense.. things like this shouldn't happen. My thoughts are with him and his family and friends.
I never liked the guy, but it is a sad story. I feel bad for his family and the Redskins players that were close to him. A sad day.....
From the Miami Herald: It's becoming more and more clear that this clearly wasn't a burglary. I'm a little hesitant to say that it happened exactly this way since the reporting on this has been absolutely awful and there's been a ton of conflicting stories out there. When I went to bed at 10 last night I thought he would be alright since I was reading quotes about how it appeared he was in stable condition and talking but now it's being said that he never regained consciousness. What a waste. Really just disgusting.
I say the NFL gives the draft Pats draft pick that was taken away to the Skins... Sean was the ideal safety.
To An Athlete Dying Young THE time you won your town the race We chaired you through the market-place; Man and boy stood cheering by, And home we brought you shoulder-high. To-day, the road all runners come, Shoulder-high we bring you home, And set you at your threshold down, Townsman of a stiller town. Smart lad, to slip betimes away From fields where glory does not stay, And early though the laurel grows It withers quicker than the rose. Eyes the shady night has shut Cannot see the record cut, And silence sounds no worse than cheers After earth has stopped the ears: Now you will not swell the rout Of lads that wore their honours out, Runners whom renown outran And the name died before the man. So set, before its echoes fade, The fleet foot on the sill of shade, And hold to the low lintel up The still-defended challenge-cup. And round that early-laurelled head Will flock to gaze the strengthless dead, And find unwithered on its curls The garland briefer than a girl's.
Havnt been able to shake the grief all day,,,, wanted this kid outa the draft and admired him from afar...... but football aside, just a tradgedy for a young life cut short...... WAY TOO YOUNG
My sentiments exactly.... Whenever you heard about anyone losing his or her life it's bound to be shocking, but this is one that is exceptionally painful.... Such a great, passionate, young athlete and father of a young daughter, cut down in what seems to be a completely senseless way.... Just terrible
Darrent Williams The vehicle from which the shots were fired was registered to an incarcerated gangbanger. I thought a few arrests were made. The case is similar to the Tupac murder- shots fired from one vehicle into another, guy gets killed, gang-related, an arrest here or there, no killer identified. Or at least that's how I understand it. Maybe there is new shit. Williams was killed at the age of 24. He left behind a 7-year old and a 4-year old.
