no running game, no OL, and a porous defense, and yet theyre poor excuses?

what a complete lack of logic.

    GOOD posting.

I agree and think that if Schotty thought these QB's were THAT horrible and that he'd have a hard time working with them, he probably would have just left.

His career and getting a HC gig could hinge on these QB's....

I'm so amused though that so many people can tell us what Clemens can be based on the few starts he's had..

im not trying to use logic, i did.

i dont have a hard on for clemens, if i did id make a huge post about it. I liked Clemens coming out of Oregon. plain and simple. so i thought he had potential, and after watching him start 7 games behind one of the worst OL's ive ever seen, and the fact 2 of the starters he played behind werent even in the league next year should speak VOLUMES. justin mccareins started at WR, seriously thats the point we were at as an offensive unit! a complete lack of a running game (thomas jones up the gut for a loss of 1)

not to mention the defense sucked that year too.

and ive clearly said i wanna see what we have, whether its clemens, ratliff, or ainge. i just prefer clemens being that I thought he was worth a shot out of college, his time in the system, and being I simply dont believe 7 games is the tell all story of a QB's career.

so if thats illogical then yes im illogical.

and another reason i have this school of thought going into this season is we have more holes to fill on this team and need to build depth through the draft.

so worst case scenario we find out we dont have a servicable qb on the roster, our team is ALOT better in every other position then last year after this years draft. going into next draft a equal and probably easily better qb class and qb being our top target.

for a franchise under a new regime i dont see how thats so illogical.

If we have such 3 good QB how come no teams are calling us for a trade with any of them?

Congratulations, that is just absolutely retarded. :drunk: Because they are all under contract, and no one has made the argument that any of them are actually elite or above average QBs. WTF would a team propose a trade for unproven talent at this point? By the lack of such a trade existing doesn't necessarily mean doom for this team.

Not much going on when you have people bitching about the same things in multiple threads.

I said he is an option
He has more talent than anybody else we have on this roster
And if we are going to use the OL as an excuse, then I could definitely make a case for Vick
Vick's OL was just as bad, but people in here can't stand him and it has nothing to do with Football.
People in here say give Clemens a chance and make all kinds of excuses when they do it.

In the end alot of our opinions are biased and probably have some emotion in them, but it shouldn't trump common sense

    Guys,
this is an argument that will go on for the whole off season and thru OTA's mini camps and training camp. The only time these questions can and will be answered, will be a the start of the season and beyond.

What I find amusing is all the folks who stood behind the argument that the Jets had no confidence in Clemens because that's the "rumor" they had heard and there for, the rumor must be true.

Then when the OC comes out and clearly states that he believes one of these young men can get the job done, the argument becomes 1- he must be lying, 2- he is stupid and does not know his business, or 3- He really doesn't feel that way, the Jets just made him say that.

I love this board and I love all the experts and pundits who have chimed in on this subject like that asshole Myers over at the Daily News.

The bottom line is this, in Oct. one group will be apologizing and the whole fan base will have a crappy season or the other way around and the Jets offense will be the surprise of the NFL. Or again, a crappy season with a very good draft spot to go out and get that so called "franchise QB" from the better draft class coming out next year...

So if you ask me the Jets are in a win/ win situation, we are going to find out once and for all if we need a new QB on this team. We will have this year for the defense to jell and learn the new system and grow as a team. On the offensive side we will get to develop our young Wr's and give Matt Cavanaugh a chance to learn this system in case Shotty does get that HC shot next year ..

In short next season will be a mini rebuild which you just can't help when you bring in a new HC. If you ask me the Jets are going about it the right way, by answering all the questions that have been ignored for far too long.......

One way or another should be a very interesting 9 months..........

that why I said "call us for a TRADE" sounds to me your the RETARD. I guess u can't trade for somebody who under contract?
The same reason they do for a unproven QB in the draft or another team. They think they could be good QB in this league but it seems we are the only team that thinks that way about our 3 QB.

I would take Vick over any QB we have now.

That, of course, does not surprise me in the least.
