Precisely. ZW is being paid to read defenses and THROW THE BALL. That's it! I don't want to see him juking linebackers ever again.
I believe after the pick he tried to press and make up for it the next drive. He needs to learn to slide( our history with qbs diving forward is unreal 20 years of the same ahit ) And after last years injury he seemed to settle down and make correct safe reads with shit talent around him. Might be for the best and he could stand to learn from this moment. Let's hope he does
We move in the direction of our thoughts: Positive or Negative Hope is positive But that said ..the Future NEVER gets better by Hope alone ..it gets better by PLAN Plan B for supplanting slow learner Wilson should be in play imo
Yeah, but he was drafted for his mobility and ability to make "off-platform" throws. How is he going to be able to do that after a second knee injury? It would be nice if he could just stand in the pocket and make throws, but I'm not sure that's who he is as a QB.
Victimized? Hahaha. Post of the decade. Maybe feeling like a "victim" because your favorite football team stinks is the real problem here.
The Jets need to build the offense around the things he is good at. Expecting him to become a cool calculating operator back there and pick apart defenses from the pocket is a pipe-dream. It's not who he has been and it is really unlikely to be who he will be in the future. The Jets lost both Sanchez and Darnold when they took flawed QB's and tried to fit them into an existing scheme. They recovered for a couple of years with Sanchez by dumbing down the offense and going heavy ground and pound. This allowed the inevitable Sanchez mistakes to be less impactful and the good throws he did make to count for more. Darnold never had a chance here although it is possible he just never had a chance due to his unwillingness to rework his throwing motion to get rid of the hitch that everybody saw coming out of USC.
For Zach to succeed, he needs to develop a better grasp of the position, what his own limitations are, and how to work within them, using his athleticism and arm strength to make plays, without taking stupid unnecessary risks.
Pavia breaks down all of Wilson’s plays vs. the Eagles. Good stuff as always. https://jetsxfactor.com/2022/08/15/...n-eagles/?mc_cid=060d923423&mc_eid=d89055cf37
Hoping everything goes well today and Zach can be back on the field sooner rather than later. We should know more here in a few hours.
Listening to NFL Radio and they are now saying Zach will not have surgery until Thursday. Can anyone confirm?
I had a partially torn meniscus last year, had an arthroscopic surgery. That knee just doesn't feel the same... just sayin'
Yep..... granted mine was shredded pretty bad (medial and lateral) and I was 37, but I had the surgeon that patched up Tony Boselli. Still never been the same though
Reading a news clip like that wrong will get them a lot more traffic. Kind of surprised Cimini has not tried that.
It doesn't get much better than Dr. ElAttrache... One of the top sports orthopedic surgeons... he's also the head team physician for the LA Dodgers and the LA Rams.
