yup, exactly. ryan will sit down with shotty then make somekind of announcement.

it's not fair to say 'ryan has no problem with keeping shotty' when the two of them haven't even shared a beer yet.

Says who? If the coach is under contract, anything can be done as to my knowledge. Its a decision between the two teams.

If he is to go to NE, we better not settle for anything less than a second rounder...which NE will decline and it all works out good. For any other team, a third or fourth. Sperm Headwards trade got us Leon. I hope Schotty, for his dumb decisions regardless of Mangini's influence, better bring us a solid WR steal in the 3rd or 4th (someone like Moss with the attitude of Curtis Martin)

BTW I know Madden doesn't allow coach trading...

This is a good point. His stock is low at this point and hes not nearly as hot as he was after 2006. I don't know why he would go to a bad team to be their OC and possibly ruin his career. I think he will stay and make a better case for himself to be the HC somewhere next year.

It follows the natural flow of this board. Demand someones head on a platter, then when you get said head, complain that we shouldn't have cut off his head!!!!!:breakdance:

The Pats already named an OC from within.

I think it's retarded that everyone beaks Schittenheimer until he is rumored to go to NE and absolute paranoia insues. We fear NE so much it's pathetic... I'm all for Schittenheimer leaving to wherever. If he indeed does go to NE and has success it will be only because of Belidick. BB is the reason anyone over there has any success, and McDaniels and Pioli failing will prove that further.

Screw Schittenheimer and his average at best offense! Bring in someone new!

I think once Schotty is gone all this overruled stuff will be false!!! If he was such a damn good OC why didn't Woody promote him to HC. He interviewed him out of respect but thats it! Also I like Rex but I dont understand why he was passed up last year for the Balt. job.

because he thought Rex Ryan would be a better choice for coach. not getting a head coaching job in no way makes someone better or worse at their coordinator position. I mean, the same logic could be applied to Ryan. if he was such a good DC, how come he got passed over for HC before. so, essentially, because he got passed over in Baltimore he is a bad DC, and thus we just hired a bad DC as our HC. OMG.

It's speculated that Ryan would take the current Raven QB coach as his OC. He's done a great job bringing Flacco along this year. I'd like to see that same magic with one of our young QB next season. And obviously Ryan is comfortable with the guy. So I'd be very happy with that choice.

I agree. Look at it from Schooty's perspective:

    1. Pissed he didn't get the HC job.

    2. Has a solid running offesne here, with a chance to prove what he can do with a young QB (most likely). Also, he knows Ratliff, Clemens and Ainge already. That has to be better than trying to develop a QB in another town starting from scratch.

    3. If he stays here and has a good year, he will likley have several teams he could be HC for in 2010 and be able to pick rather than accept a new team.

    4. If he goes to a Detroit or SF etc as OC, he sets his timetable for becoming a HC back at least another year, maybe more.

If he was in fact "Man-Cuffed" by Mangini, here is his chance to show what he can do with greater autonomy. If I am Schotty, I take the ego hit and stay here where my career is probably brighter than elsewhere, given the sucky teams he might be able to go to at this point. Detroit? That town has a steeple bell that tolls for the death of coaching careers all year long.
