Sauce shut down the best receiver in the game today Jefferson 7 catches 45 yards. Go Sauce!!!! Mvp!!!!! He may be better than Revis, did anyone see the commentator giving him praise after he was covering Jefferson, than realize that the ball was going elsewhere and getting off Jefferson and almost intercepting the ball? The guy may have the highest Football IQ in the league!!
Honestly I believe Reed was covering JJets more then anything. Simply because the Vikes line him up more on Reed’s side. I thought as a whole the defense didn’t let JJ take control of the game….which as much as I can remember, they haven’t let a WR really destroy so far this season.
I'll eat a plate of crow about my belief that Sauce's tackling issues ruled him out at the 4th overall pick. Fucking dude walked out on that stage and dapped the commissioner of the league like he was his little brother and then proceeded to play like an all-pro from the moment he stepped on the field. I have never seen a player in a Jets uniform walk onto the field and immediately act like he'd been there before and played like it. I really think we might be watching transcendental talent, and it's arguable he might not even be the best player we drafted this year. When it is all said and done, I think Jets fans are going to be arguing with everyone else that the Jets 2022 draft was the best single draft in history. Joe is a fucking assassin.
I've got to think that Sauce will get even better next year... as long as he doesn't show up to camp 90 lbs. overweight.
I will say - he does fucking hate tackling. I believe it was Mattison’s TD run where he really showed it. It’s all good though as long as he keeps blanketing dudes.
I mean the guy is built like a human spider... probably best he just tries to slow dudes down instead of laying the lumber
Holy cow this is sick! Shows Sauce had the highest % if pass-breakups in the entire NFL and gave up the fewest yards per attempt (2 yards!) which is the fewest yards per attempt of any DB in the league. As far as tackling, I was a bit unimpressed early in the season, but to be honest as the season wore on I actually saw Sauce making really nice tackles.
