Sauce is a Rookie in his 7th career game. How is he this good?! Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
He’s been fantastic…I too wanted a tackle at 4 instead of a corner as I had thought Hall could continue to start but man the upgrade has been seriously drastic and has for sure changed our D…he saved the Denver game by breaking up TD at the end there….would’ve sucked to have lost on the last few plays out of curiousity…didn’t Houston draft a corner at three right ahead of us? I haven’t watched them but I wonder how he’s doing…can’t imagine he’s balling like Sauce…
Yes, they took Stingley who many here didn't want because of injuries. Here's an update on him from the Texans SB Nation blog. https://www.battleredblog.com/2022/10/12/23400288/derek-stingley-jr-houston-texans-dameon-pierce
Oooof that was damning. I personally wanted Ekwonu. I said to justify a CB over a LT the CB would have to be all world. So far he really is, JD made the right choice.
He still has tackling issues and they were on display a couple of times against Green Bay. But that is more than forgivable when you have the type of closing speed and range and instincts that he does. His assignments rarely need to be tackled.
He's never going to tackle like Revis, but if his coverage skills continue to grow from where it is (cut down on some of the grabbing) it won't matter
It's too bad that Breece got injured. I placed a bet before season started, a parlay for Breece to win OROY and Sauce to win DROY @+8800.. What could've been
That easily could have been a reality as well. Has that ever happen before? I don't recall it being the case
Not that I know of. Haven't done any research though, so might have.. And yes, how they have been balling the last couple of weeks, it actually looked likely to happen IMO.
Like I stated earlier, Sauce will be first team all pro. That would have been a nice little payday though.
Sauce was the leading tackler in the Broncos game... but yeah... I get the criticism. His closing speed IS insane... it pops off the screen.
Last Sunday he seemed to be leading with his head in a few tackles I saw which was concerning. I'm wondering if he was ever taught properly how to tackle or maybe he's never made it a priority.
