    Sounds good but if there is any doubt of the shoulder I'd rather sit him out and avoid further damage.

    Kitna has a much better arm than Brunell, and clearly hasn't run out of gas.

    Carr has shown that he can complete 60% of his passes and not lose a game since becoming a backup.

    If that list are exceptional backups, then SF is full of exceptional backups and Carr is the serviceable one.

    Brunell is clearly here for wisdom and not to play, and he won't be playing this year apparently.

    Kitna's first action back from being out that long was pretty bad. I'd expect the same out of Brunell
