so you'd rather him be bombed with the same questions, and have to think on the fly?

he's a competitor who hates losing. Its the media, you don't bow down to those fuckers.

You don't bow down you stand up and face the music. You don't act like a dick and come out with a prepared statement that you wrote in the fucking locker room immediatly after a loss that probably put you out of any chance of a playoff birth.
We're all entitled to our opinions on this but i think Sanchez acted like a cocky little douchbag after this loss. "i don't know how you could have any questions"? Come on.

I didn't see the presser, but from the sounds of it, he knows what the problems are, he wants to fix them and unlike one our veteran defensive "leaders" named Rhodes at least came out said his part and still did answer the questions he was asked.
For such a prima donna, he has nothing but the utmost praise for his fellow teammates and his coaches (whether or not they deserve it), and seems to put all the blame on his shoulders. I'd say that's not so bad for a guy who hasn't lost much in his sporting career.

He hasn't lost much because he hasn't played much. Only had a 16 game college career so not really much time to lose.
Also, as much as it kills me to say this i have to say Francessa hit the nail on the head on "Miked up". He ripped Sanchez and said the kid better grow up and learn how to deal with playing QB in NY and dealing with press.
This kids got to learn how to play the position before he starts acting like this.

I just saw the press conference, and I can't believe he came out with a prepared statement like that. That's was ridiculous. I sat in my chair, and said out loud is this dude serious. I was embarrassed for him. How he thought that was a good idea is beyond me. That really rubbed me the wrong way. *end rant*

Is this press conference online anywhere yet? I really want to see what the big deal is. After reading it, it sounds fine, I don't see what the problem is.

It's on the official website if people want to watch it.

    http://www.newyorkjets.com/blog/posts/1348-sanchez-after-jagged-loss-sink-or-swim-

I still don't see what the big deal is. The dude is upset we lost, I rather a player be pissed off because we lost instead of acting like it's no big deal. Fuck the press who gives a shit about them asking questions first.

Would it be better if he sat at his locker and went all Ryan Leaf?

Fuck the New York media. Who cares? He's a kid. He wanted to organize his thoughts and wrote them down so he wouldn't be misquoted and would remember to touch on everything he wanted. I thought he said all the right things.

On the field, he needs to get better. I want him to find his composure, lead us to a clutch victory and stop throwing off his back foot.

Like I said, at least he goes out there and faces the media, period. The same can;t be said for Kerry Rhodes, who didn't even have the balls to come out after the Miami game. FWIW, Sanchez is basically still a kid, who, as you put it yourself, has still played only 25 NCAA/NFL games in his career, so give the kid a break.
I don't need to remind anybody left talking at this hour, because most of the guys/gals bullshitting right now know their football pretty good, but look at 95 percent of rookie QBs in the league. Besides HC, QB is the most scrutenized (sp) position on the field of play, and I'd say, so far, Sanchez has been a little over average, which IMO, is pretty good. He's in an almost impossible position from day one here, and EVO, I know you're a Sanchez fan, so let's just give him some time. If he's still doing this next season, then maybe it is a problem, but so far, I don't have a problem with it.
And let's face the facts, this loss is not on him. And neither were the Dolphins games. You want to hear a bunch of pricks with the media, I'll show the defense which talks a BOAT LOAD of shit, and can't get a fucking stop when needed. Only once this season, and it was against the Pats.
Sanchez, also FWIW, refuses to blame anybody but himself, and that to me is the most important thing here. Sorry for the length of the post.

Not to mention, no one should give a remote shit what that fat fuck who bullshits on the radio thinks about our team or our QB. The guy wouldn't know a football, soccer ball, baseball, etc. if it hit him in the face. The only place this guy runs to is Jack's every Tuesday or to White Castle for a 10-sack.
Why NYC has chosen to make a "star" out of this guy, I haven't got the faintest idea. I'd rather listen to Stephen A. Smith than that tub of goo, and that's saying a lot.

yeah, he should have come out eating a hot dog.

I could care LESS about the press conference. I want to see him get better at checking down, making reads and please, sweet Jesus, can he at least look at pics of coverage on the sidelines and talk to his recievers and coaches? Just THAT would get me off his back. He's either slappy jack after a TD or Dante's inferno on the sidelines after a bad drive.

I want him to get his head out of his ass, or out of the clouds. I want to see him talking to his recievers when the D is on the field. I want to see some leadership. I hate to say this... I really do, but this is very reminiscent of Losman in Buffalo. He better snap out of it, and soon. This franchise and we as fans have far too much invested in him. If he is a bust, we are screwed for years.

God, please don't put him and Losman into the same thought, lol. Good point on the checking down aspect. If he hits TJ in the 1st quarter on 3rd down, we get the extra 4 instead of the FG, and this could have been a completely different game. I still think this talkative D needs a big stop though....

UInfortunately that's the difference between a QB Friendly OC who is coaching a rookie QB
and one like ours who stands there w/ his head up his ass.

How is the media angry about this? He just made their job 10 times easier. He broke it all down for them in a few seconds.

How can we complain about Sanchez's play? The guy is a rookie putting the team in position to win games. What more can you ask for of a rookie? The defense choked this one up for us.

You're assuming the media is approaching it's job as it should - to report the facts. That isn't the case though. They want to sensationalize and dramatize the situation as much as possible.

By coming with a prepared statement he made their job infinitely harder. Gone is the opportunity to get him to say something stupid or inflammatory.

The media is angry because they couldn't needle a Ryan Leaf-like soundbite out of Sanchez that would cement their names in the history-books. The fact that Francesser whined on his WNBC show about his prepared statement is a gigantic red flag as to the media's motives.

    Fuck the NY Sports Media.

Great, Sanchez came with a prepared statement. This is football, not fucking TMZ. I could give two shits about how he says something or what he says, all I care about is his performance and progression on the field on Sundays.
