Sanchez Running

What do you think about Sanchez' running the ball?

  1. -I love it. We should gameplan around it, Sanchez should always fight for extra yardage.

    6.2%
  2. -It should be at his discretion. He should run whenever he sees yardage, and should fight for yards.

    37.7%
  3. -Sanchez should only run after he goes through his reads. He should ALWAYS slide or step out bounds.

    53.4%
  4. -I hate it. Sanchez should never run the ball, putting him in more danger is reckless and stupid.

lol, I'm sure there was more behind it than just teaching him how to slide. I bet Girardi talked to the team, and what it's like to be in the NY media etc.

When I saw Sanchez scrambling and diving head-first on Sunday, the first thing that came to mind was Chad Pennington running and scrambling and diving head-first with no regard to his personal safety, even after signing a huge contract. Then Chad dove head-first for extra yardage against the Bills and tore the labrum and the rest is history.

If this kid is going to continue to run like that, someone needs to teach him immediately that it's secure the ball and slide, not dive head-first or try to out-run the linebacker to the sideline.

If he doesn't learn that, his career will not last that long, no matter the skills he possesses.

That's a good point, maybe he gave them a Championship speech too.

I guess it can't hurt, as long as he doesn't have throw some fast balls for him.

I love this poll bc I brought this up weeks ago. Sanchez needs to scramble more (obviously being safe -- sliding etc) and most people were against it.

He locks into his reads and forces throws into tight coverages. He could just take off in those instances. Pull a 2008 Patriots Matt Cassel.

Look at the poll results now

    Haters.
