It's not a matter of wanting to see Sanchez fail, at least for me, but rather aside from 3 or 4 games over the past 4 seasons I haven't seen anything from him that says he's the guy. For ever 1 good, but not great, game he has there are 3-4 bad to horrible games. In short over 4 years I've not seen anything that says that beyond an occasional pretty good game that he's anything other than a bottom tier QB. And here's something to remember, just about every bad QB in history had a few games that made people go wow.
It doesn't matter how much Sanchez tries, or how much he cares. The Jets could pick up Jerry Seinfeld at QB, and regardless of how hard he tried to become good, or how much he cared, he would still suck at QB. Sanchez is dog shit, and if the Jets don't get rid of him before the season starts it will be another year down the toilet, 100% guaranteed. I'm taking bets, laying odds.
Ironically, I'm wearing a head band right now, but my hair is twice the length of his at least. I think Mark COULD turn it around, and am convinced that he is trying to, but ultimately I just can't see him actually starting week 1 against Revis and Tampa. Especially being it's us, the Jets, the backlash of starting Mark will/would be too much.
What I see when I see recent pictures of Sanchez is a publicity campaign aimed at "toughing up" his image, but if that is the case the headband chosen really didn't help, made him look more like a ballet instructer.
Screw Parcells...that guy never won anything without Belicheck. I have never seen a QB get vilified like this...who the hell did he have to throw to last year? Tom Brady would have looked bad with that core of receivers last year
Problem is if you look at Sanchez's lines from last year they're pretty similar to his lines from the previous 3 years. In other words Sanchez's performance didn't drop off much. good recievers his lines are flat, "bad" recievers his lines are flat. As far as the Brady comment, Brady routinely has recievers who don't do crap on other teams but peform at higher levels with him throwing to him. QB's make recievers, not the other way around.
He'll say all the right things in the off-season and probably play well until he gets that first ear-rattling hit.
Sanchez problems have never involved lack of work ethic. Even most of the "anonymous sources" state this. Ex-Jets who have had some not so nice things to say after leaving the team also state Sanchez isn't lazy. The typical "first one in & last one out" comments.
