Now that you, and later Laxin, have given a dissertation, on what the WCO isnt, maybe, you could take 30 seconds, click the link, and read what Walsh actually explaoned. One read, usually pre snap, specified drop, deliver the ball And Zach, who deosnt even like Sanchez, has already put away the Sanchez cant throw short myth. Sanchez accuracy, is hampered, by where and when hes asked to deliver the ball. As was ponted out above, his passer rating in the RZ, 2011 was close to 90. Yeah, that sucks. For your argument anyway. If you asked anyone, if they would take a 90 rating from Sanchez, 65,000 people in Metlife would sign up day one. Thats over a season, so calling it a statistical aberration, is ...ludicrous. Thats a far less valid argument, than say...finally getting decent coaching. But..in 500 pages this discussion has only gotten to two points Its proved half of the addage that , " when the team wins the QB gets too much of the Credit, when they lose, he gets too much of the blame" The second point was raised by another board member....it pertains to discrediting anything positive the guy has done. "if the average Jets fan found a bag full of twenties, he'd complain they werent fifties" You guys act like he has been Henne,Gabbert,Skelton,Quinn,Cassell, fitzpatrick pr any of the relatively unsuccessful QBs to play over the last 4 years.
Maybe you could take 30 seconds to read how Bill Walsh's version of the WCO has been fading out in favor of more aggressive forms of the WCO that employs deep passes more frequently and focuses less on ball control aspect. As to where Sanchez is being asked to throw the ball, it doesn't matter where he's asked to throw the ball, screens? he's 20% below the average, 1-10 yards, 10% below the average, Can't throw short arguments been put to rest? hardly. Nothing statistically or through watching games indicates that Sanchez has a good touch on the ball. Regarding the close to 90 Redzone argument...look at who ranked HIGHER than him in the Redzone QBR....he was freaking 13th and your bragging that Sanchez's BEST season made him average? yeah whatever. the 89.1 Rating in the redzone is "over a season" ? really? You REALLY want to go there when it's already been addressed. I'm not going to rehash that because clearly your delusional when you have to cherry pick a small sample in one season that makes the guy appear "average". When in reality as a QB in the rating system, which is flawed by the way, he was still #13! Behind the Cardinals QB's, behind the Bills QB, Behind the Packers Christian Ponder. And you want to rest your argument on that? And it's funny you close your argument out with Fitzpatrick AFTER using the Quarterback rating of Sanchez in the red zone of 89.1%...Fitzpatrick in 2011 had a higher red zone rating.....Talk about shooting yourself in the foot with your own data comparisons.
Addendum on the west coast offense thing, MM is a proponent of the new style of WCO which employs a lot of deep passes, aka MM soesn't use Walsh's WCO but rather Greenbay and the Philidelphia version of the WCO. Throw deep young man, throw deep.
None of them had Jeremy Kerley as a #1 WR, none of them had Chaz Schilens starting, none of them had Clyde Gates getting major PT,... There's nothing wrong feeling like that, we are all entitled to our opinions. My arguments have always been he was a lot better than most think and it's unfair to judge based on 2012. He had a terrible 1st half at Indy in the WC game but was excellent the 2nd half including leading a GW drive on the road in the playoffs.
Jeremy Kerley is an emerging young reciever in this league. He's not some scrub from the street. He'd probably get #1 WR minutes for a lot of teams in this league. Chaz Schilens only started 6 of 16 games. Clyde Gates only appeared in 11 games, about half of those he was only a part-time/special teams player. Towards the end of the year he got more minutes, but I really don't think he's all that bad. A young player cutting a rug in this league. If you think he got "major PT" last season, then you might as well keep the excuse train rolling because he's probably going to get more minutes, earned minutes, this fall.
Its no secret Sanchez had no weapons, its also blatantly fucking obvious that many and most of Sanchez's mistakes had nothing to do with his weapons.
Hey nobody expected the Jets to explode in game 1 against Buffalo last year but they did. Unfortunately it didn't mean much. I wonder if Revis will be ready to go. I bet nothing would make him happier than picking off Mark.
Kerley is a very good slot receiver, on a decent team he's the #3 option at best but for us he was a #1. he only started 40% of our games? Only in 11 games? that's it? it's not about these guys being bad but they were counted on as top guys. On a good O Kerley should be at best a 3rd option, gates at best a 5th option, Schilens at best a 5th option. Remember, he wasn't even a lock to make the team and he started almost half the games. Gates was cut by Miami who had mediocre WRs and we picked him late. He had some injuries or he would have played much more. As it was he had over 200 snaps on offense which was more than all except kerley, Schilens and Hill.
I don't know why I am wasting my time responding to you but this is also good for the others too. Mark Sanchez 2009-2012(4 seasons): 4 road playoff wins as a starter NY Jets 1960-2008(49 seasons): 3 road playoff wins Miami Dolphins 1966-2012(47 seasons): 3 road playoff wins Buffalo Bills 1960-2012(53 seasons): 4 road playoff wins Cincinnati Bengals 1968-2012(45 seasons): ZERO road playoff wins Cleveland Browns 1946-1995, 1999-2012(64 seasons): 3 road playoff wins Jacksonville Jaguars 1995-2012(18 seasons): 3 road playoff wins Denver Broncos 1960-2012(53 seasons): 3 road playoff wins SD Chargers 1960-2102(53 seasons): 4 road playoff wins Oakland Raiders 1960-2012(53 seasons): 3 road playoff wins Chicago Bears 1920-2012(93 seasons): 3 road playoff wins Detroit Lions 1930-2012(83 seasons): 2 road playoff wins Atlanta Falcons 1966-2012(47 seasons): 3 road playoff wins TB Bucs 1976-2012(37 seasons): 1 road playoff win NO Saints 1967-2012(46 seasons): ZERO road playoff wins Carolina Panthers 1995-2012(18 seasons): 4 road playoff wins SF 49ers 1946-2012(67 seasons): 3 road playoff wins Seattle Seahawks 1976-2012(37 seasons): 2 road playoff wins Arizona Cardinals 1920-2012(93 seasons): 2 road playoff wins in 4 seasons as a starter he has more road playoff wins than more than half the league but it's easy to win road playoff games:rofl2:
Sanchez is awful and road on the backs of his D and running games. He's never done anything in this league but be an embarrassment to the QB position and our team. Defend your hero all you want like the good little kool aid robot you are, but it doesn't change the fact that Sanchez is putrid and has always been below average.
I'm on my phone. Wanna see how bad he is? Go watch a game. Again, defend him all you want, but you're a blind kool aid crew member if you can't see how dreadful he is. The scrub literally does nothing well.
Again, those playoff wins were complete team 3-phase victories with everyone contributing. You cant put Sanchez on a pedestal for those wins if you keep pointing in other directions for his failures (which you do).
What's there that needs rebuttal? You're using flawed logic by crediting Sanchez with TEAM accomplishments (accomplishments in which he had little to do worth). You Intchez fanboys are as bad as the Tebowites. Geez...
I have NEVER said Sanchez carried us or that the wins weren't team wins BUT we didn't have any special teams yet we won 4 road playoff games w/ a supposed bad QB starting for us. How come much better teams and franchises have less road playoff wins than we have w/ mark under C? He deserves praise for helping us win, he deserves criticism for helping us lose.
